This thread is literally nothing but people saying that they miss each other. God dammit, we had a good time a few years ago and we can stop by this site if we want to.
So on the subject of missing people, there's one dude in particular who stands out to me. SargeantSarcasm. I looked up his profile and a couple of people seem to have commented that he's passed away, which is unbelievably sad news considering how incredible a guy he was. We ought to organize a reunion of the old guys in his memory - a commemorative TGIF or something, to pay tribute to his lasting legacy. Maybe a week or two after Halo 5 comes out?
Hey guys, I thought I'd check in after seeing this thread. I'm 22, finished with school, and have a job. I play some battlefield, gta v, bioshock, and the arkham series every now and again, but the times I play are few and far between. I spent a lot of time moving around. If anybody remembers I moved to Hong Kong, graduated, and came back to the US for college. I felt very connected to this community (even if it may not have felt very connected to me), because FH was one constant during a lot of change. I'm glad to hear many of you are doing well. It's hard to hear about lightsout and sarge, I know they will be greatly missed. So much seemed to happen here and yet it's hard to relive it. This online Halo forging forum is beyond esoteric. I'd say there's value about that though, because while I don't talk about forgehub today, nor will I likely in the future, I still think about it and the members a lot, and esp. about what it means to have a bit of solitude in an ever-expanding global community (with increasingly less and less personal privacy). Do you follow? (I'm not sure I do). Thanks much for sharing a big and important bit of time with me. Please keep posting updates about what you're up to. I'd love to hear from ya.
Is this true? Can we get a confirmation on this some how? Should make this a "Where Are You Now" thread. So many people have come and gone over the years, it'd be nice to have a one stop thread for keeping tabs on each other somewhat. Myself, I don't do much gaming these days. Been getting a lot of time in the past two months, but that's only because I've got time to burn as I wait for my moving date to fly back to the US after nearly a decade living overseas. Since I started forging back in 2011, and subsequently became a pain in everyone's ass, I've done a good bit with my life. I knocked out a bachelors in Business Management, which isn't much in todays world by all means (it's essentially the ultimate scapegoat degree for not knowing what to do with your life), and had more than my fair share of problems with substance abuse and addiction during that time. Around 2013 I finally started getting my life together proper, beat addiction, and started my Masters in Finance, which required me to teach myself Algebra and a bit of Calculus on the fly just to keep up in my first couple of courses. Surprisingly, managed to finish the degree with a 3.2 GPA. Originally I had planned on staying in Europe to work either as a strategy consultant of investment analyst (equity markets). Had an offer from Ernst & Young, but it required me improving my German considerably to start. Shortly after my interview with them, an old colleague of mine proposed I move back to the US and help him and a few other guys I served with in the Marines launch an IT Services and Sales company. Decided to go with that instead, and have been working on it ever since. What's everyone else been up to?
I remember you from that universe skateboard exploding guy sig of yours. We used to hang around the art/signature contest/tutorials section part of this forum. I've been graduating from graphic design since 2012 them. Nice that you're still alive. It's also good to see most of the old comments from users here. I think esoteric is quite the right word to describe this forum. There were a hell lot of inside jokes. And I'm still a new member as well.
I hope everyone is well. It's good to see some familiar faces posting around here. Expect to see more of me in the up and coming months.
Hello h3 era people! I last logged in 7 years ago. Halo 5's forge has me pumped and I'm thinking I'm going to get back into forging. Anyone happen to remember me (and/or my amateurish maps)? I'm glad this is all still here. What a blast from the past.
Sarge died? Holy ****. I remember way back when I was youngin', me and Mocha restarted The Pharmacy Counter. I did a lot of things on this site back in the day that make me want to smack my old self. Well, R.I.P big guy. If you're reading this, we're sorry about the mean things we did to you <3. While I'm here, I guess I can just update you guys on what's been happening recently. I was in my first year of high school when I joined, and now I'm in my first year of college. My stay here was relatively short-lived, but some of you guys may remember the crazy things I did around here to try and fit in with all of you. I wasn't really old enough back then. I still play Halo occasionally, I'm waiting until forge comes out before I go buy Halo 5. I missed all of the fun custom games back in Halo Reach, that's how I got so involved here. Other than that, I've been mainly sticking to Destiny, GTA V, and hopefully I get the chance to look at Fallout 4. But yeah, nothing much has changed since I left. I'm just growing up and starting my own life away from home right now. Hopefully when I do play Halo 5 I'll have so much fun with it to the point that I can relive the "golden days" of customs.
