lol I was actually planning on playing an SS rom some time soon, so I may attempt that. Training Pokemon for Gym beattles is already tedious enough, though, hahaha. I have no idea what a Pokemon opeen is, but I have owned Red, Gold, Silver, Crystal (same gen, I know), Fire Red, Emerald, Pearl, and Platinum. I stopped keeping up with pokemon altogther after the latter tbh.
Inferi just wanted to be cool. If you are talking about the hacked rom I was, then I say go for it. The one I played offered action replay codes on a document that you could copy and paste onto your emulator (in its cheat section). I myself hate any form of cheating, but it at least speeds up the game, and the game is HARD. But just don't attempt a nuzlocke and you'll be fine. I have heard a lot of disappointment with platinum for some reason, and I personally don't get it (other than having 8 or so HMs). I thought the story was great, as well as the pokemon availability. I guess that's just me though.

If you're talking about a hacked rom, then grinding before a gym won't take any longer than on the traditional games. In fact, there are AR codes readily available (to copy and paste into your emulator) to help you out (such as double movement speed and rebattling trainers ; depends on the rom). Anyways, for some reason a lot of people are disappointed with platinum. I personally loved the game for the story and the pokemon / TMs available, also Infernape as a starter. The only thing that turned me off was the numerous HMs.
Do you play showdown alot? I'd be down to play if you would be. I play from time to time with a friend on XBL, but I'll play any tier aside from Ubers. That opponent of yours had a pretty wierd team (Swampert with outrage, then Weezing/Gallade). Edit: k GG. 3 and 0 over here. Why do people post in a thread and never return to it?

I think the new pokemon games are going to 8low haaaaaaaard. Mega Evolutions just seem so stupid. Like why not just m8ke a new pokemon that evolves from a 3rd tier? Why does it have to 8e mega?
Idk, I think the "megalutions" are pretty interesting. I like that there will be tactics to dealing with Mega pokemon like running knock off to get rid of its stone.

Showdown is awesome, played it a lot last time I got into Pokemon. I would certainly play Pokemon of they came out with another original game instead of a remake. I can't get into playing the same story a second time usually :/
