Love it! A BTB forger, forging a 1v1, definitely allows for a creative style of play. SideNote: There isn't many forgers that can successfully forge a BTB map with aesthetic value and fluent competitive game play. I was really into the btb.net scene and it saddens me that it is so complicated to mesh competitiveness and btb in forge. I challenge anyone to pull this off. i've seen a few btb maps submitted here, but they look awful. I think it takes skill beyond that of your typical 4v4 map forger, so for that kudos to you. I'm really hoping to see, with your experience, some great btb/squad maps on here soon. And from anyone else who dares to attempt such a challenge.
What an absolutely gorgeous looking map. Cleanly forged and you're forging 1v1 maps, big guy? Nasty. I have to get back into the game and step it up for sure. Now...how the hell do I download?
I enjoyed my games on this map, even though chunk took advantage of my inexperience and went all rhicocerekterino on me!
I see you moved the Sniper. I've enjoyed all of my games on here. My only concern is with the number of long range battles. It's not a problem that there's the possibility of long range battles. I've just found that they are a bit too frequent for my liking. It's often hard to finish gunfights at long range unless the other player decides to challenge, and therefore it's usually smarter to avoid shooting long distance and giving away your position. By avoiding some of the longer range battles, I was often able to use my knowledge of the map to know where players would move to, which ended up giving me an advantage. It also resulted in a slower paced game. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is in the eye of the beholder I guess. It's a solid 1v1 map. It's one of about 10 1v1 maps I have saved in my local storage, which should say something. I'll have to give the newest version a try.
Really loved our games on this map. The scale is deceivingly large because the gameplay is not slow at all. I like how exposed OS is, it negates camping that power up really well. Brute Shot is also a very valuable pickup as you can shoot players off of the map if traversing the middle. I think this is a solid 1st attempt at a 1v1, very commendable map Duck May the sauce be with you...
I hadn't fully realized the implications of these longer-ranged engagements. That they reward players more familiar with movement options on the map is intentional. That they result in many unfinished gunfights and slow the pace of the game is not (reminds me of sprint, yikes). I think this is largely due to my inexperience with scaling 1v1 maps and my history with maps for larger player counts. Thank you for opening my eyes to the issue. I'll be sure to avoid this issue in future designs.

I finally took a look at this with some friends the other night. I am very impressed with the layout. It took some time to grasp all the movement options which was a fun process in itself. We agreed that the map reminded us of the scene at the end of The empire strikes back when Luke finds out Darth is his father and falls. Very Cool. Sorry I got personal with you the other day. Sometimes you gotta ignore my temper tantrums. Seeing this proved me wrong about your forging skills. I would recommend this map to anyone. I would only suggest either both players know every thing about the map or nothing to make it fair BC map knowledge is pretty key on this one.
Look, I don't hold grudges. I don't take offense. I don't allow my impression of people based on their actions affect my impression of the maps they create. Believe it or not, I once was a wee pleb in the forging community, thinking I'd never get my time in the limelight. When the recognition finally came, I thought it was overdue. But, in retrospect, I think it was premature. Today, there are many more avenues for recognition within this community than there were back then, and I think many people are being recognized too soon. I believe that that recognition is meaningless if it is not earned. Sometimes that takes years (it did for me). I think that many people in this community today are too extrinsically motivated: forging only for the thrill of recognition. Forge for yourself; design because you love it. Do this, and the recognition will come. There are enough people with eyes for talent who are in the position to shed the limelight that this I can guarantee. When it comes, it may seem overdue. And it may even be overdue. But, if you're intrinsically motivated, it won't matter. You need to be able to be responsive to feedback. Sometimes you have to rebuild a map one, two, even ten times. Sometimes it really sucks. But, that's what makes the recognition mean something when it finally comes. And remember, you're never obligated to change your map just because someone recommends it. If you truly believe that their feedback is not for the betterment of your map, don't take it. But, always be respectful of it regardless. Give this community more of a chance, and I think you'll find it will give you one. Hopefully you'll find this sincere and helpful. But, if you are determined to believe that I am, as you say, a "narcissistic prick", then so be it. I am not bothered one way or another, and I promise you that my judging of your map will be as impartial as possible regardless of your attitude towards me. If you truly enjoyed this map, then I am happy for you. The map is certainly not perfect, but it was a fun challenge for me to design. Your comparison to the the scene from the Empire Strikes Back is a good one and one which I had not thought of.
I'm glad you said this because I really needed to hear it. Thanks. I'm glad you can brush off what I said because I didn't mean it. I was just being an asshole. I did enjoy this map and I wished I would have looked at it sooner. Pictures don't do the map justice. It definitely needs a walkthrough showing all the jumps and sight lines through the atrium.
