WIP - Vermilion

    Vermilion is a symmetrical map designed for 2-8 players. It is my first symmetrical map so I am looking for some solid feedback.

    I really like the middle of the map and the connections to it. The sightlines in the outer areas seem a little long though and you could maybe scale down the outer ring and add some structural cover to break things up just a bit. Overall looks good, but i think the geometry you have going on in the middle could be replicated a bit in the outer areas by cutting off the 90 degree corners and making them angled to follow the inner deck. I hope you can pull something from this. I think you can make this a really nice one. HCS in mind?

    Yea I agree with you about the sightlines being too long on the outside. I got a 4v4 in on this map and I wasn't very satisfied with how it played. So I may have to do a bit of a redesign. Thanks for the feedback.

    Very simple, very clean and over all looks really well done. However, I third the lack of cover on the outside. I would like to see dynamic cover that allows you to jump on top of it and change up what would normally be just a straight forward engagement where the person lower has no option but to strafe and hope the person misses. I would suggest taking a look at H3's assembly and maybe trying to replicate regen's area in your way, that would be the perfect sort of cover in those areas and would force someone to move of the hight advantage or at least slow it down so that a teammate could have time to support and push him off. Other than that, it looks quite solid and I would like to give it a game or 2 so that I could provide further feedback and help shape It up to be even better.

    Yea I'm definatly going to have to add some more cover in that area. I like what you were saying about Assembly it might be cool to replicate something like that on this map. I'd like to get a playtest or two and get some more feedback on it. I'll add you on XBl tomorrow when I get home if you don't mind. My GT is moo43. Thanks for the feedback.
