I recently bought myself an Xbox One and the Master Chief Collection after a ~5 year break from both Halo and Xbox Live (not counting the combined 2 or 3 weeks I played Reach and Halo 4 when they released), and I want to jump right back into forging. Even if I wasn't the most amazing forger, I like to think if I had a solid idea I could pull it off.

But with MCC, We have choices! Oh so many choices! So, which version of Halo is most commonly used for custom games? Is the same version also most commonly used for Forge?

My worry is that if I jump into Halo 4 forge and start making maps, it'll all be for naught because everyone plays Halo 2 anniversary instead, or vise versa. Or, heck, does everyone gather on Halo 3 now? I have no idea.

So that's what I want to know. Which Halo game should I put my time and effort into?

    Thanks to anyone who responds.

(For those curious, my old forgehub name was kronos001, or just Kronos, depending on the date. I made a new live account, so I figured I might as well start fresh here, too.)

Edit: Also, I see there's only 6 members online right now, including myself. Is it just a bad time or has this website lost a lot of its members over the years? Or perhaps I'm just misremembering how many were usually online at once.

Definitely H2A is what basically everyone is forging on. You can check out recent releases here - http://www.forgehub.com/maps

Regarding the activity level, it's much lower than it was during the Halo 3 era. There was a gradual decline through Reach, followed by a steep drop-off during Halo 4, mostly due to the fact that the games weren't very good. The site actually was closed for around 6 months near the end of Halo 4, and just came back online last fall a little before TMCC came out. Increasing the sites activity is a slow process. It's heading the right direction slowly, but surely.

By the way, welcome back! Hope you enjoy your stay. Let me or any other staff members know if you need help with anything. :)
