No because the point of having maps to push is that they are the best, and that multiple members have helped contribute to them. 2 weeks is not long enough, sacrifices quality needlessly. This isint rocket science, the best maps will stand out. Maps need to be pushed only if they are good enough, not because they won a contest. As for Ridge, make people care about the map then. Get customs ran on it, spread the word to people, get it playtested, get it refined. Its not going to promote itself. The map itself looks decent, a vertical ish based asym is something that is needed. Maybe a polish up of the aesthetics and a powerful item to spawn low to force players down there would be a help.
There is one major difference between Onslaught and forge maps from Reach onwards, colors. In Reach "top players" (who sadly are the only ones that matter when deciding on maps) moaned about grey. In H4 they moaned about all the white. Now in H2A, they're either gonna moan about the brown or the green (if you go the retarded way of forging everything with metal surfaces). Of course this never stopped all the Mid-**** clones from gaining traction, but whatever... Also, I approve of Orion and Complexion. The former I'm hesitant to support for anything other than KotH though... I'd still like to push the poorly named Regret, but apparently it's "too predictable" like Station 9.
I agree with this entirely. Simply put, it should be the most polished designs out of the forge community... Revamps of some of the leading maps from the end of H4's time would probably be our best bets. Polishing new designs is too short term.
got it done for my preview video i've started working on, here's the snippet of it (best viewed in google chrome for 60fps)
The idea of the contest was more to give forgers some more motivation to finish their maps. Also for the Onslaught comment, Foundry was the first forge pallet and also had lots of different textures. It was also all new and people didn't have that high standards as to forge maps. Reach and H4 gave forge bland textures which obviously gave players reasons to not like forge maps as much. With H2A I'm afraid to see the same thing happen, but still I'm all for pushing Complexion and Orion. Getting forge maps that are not midship clones in the settings is a great achievement on its own.
I remade an inverse/mirrored version of Scythe. I haven't tested it much though, and I'm not sure that people even like it that much. I could post it on my fileshare if someone wants to run it sometime.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm involved with the Community Cartographer group. Its a non paid official community role; a secret group cult of sorts that actively recommends maps to for potential online matchmaking implementation. I'm acting as task lead for finding new maps to bring into consideration for the next season of the Halo Championship Series. Map testing commences this Friday, March 6th at 8pm. I'm responsible for presenting all of the maps to Industries and the rest of our testing group, the Community Cartographers. Please make all necessary adjustments to your maps now. This includes setting up as many functioning gametypes possible, reviewing your spawns, cleaning up those edges and containing your map with kill volumes. Good luck guys, I'm really looking forward to seeing new maps in HCS tournaments. To all HCS submissions: Please make sure to include your leaderboard information in the description area of your map in addition to your active gamertag so we can find it easily. What other maps do you think we should test? What do you think of our current testing pool?
I still stand by my original thoughts of Orion and Complexion being added to season 2. Do we agree that this is something we should push?
The most crucial part i think would be getting pros on board with these maps as well otherwise they probably won't go anywhere since pros opinions are cared about the most.
I'm tied up with my Master thesis still, but I can make time for forge if there are any issues that need to be addressed on Orion. As we've concluded that scripted-spawns don't seem to work, I should probably at the very least go back and set the spawns to normal to cut back on object count. Thoughts?
I am not familiar with the H2A spawning issues and am having troubles on my own. Where is this being discussed?
To what are you referring? H2A spawning is pretty similar to H4 for the most part. What we were referring to right now was back when TMCC first came out, we experimented with tying spawn points to trigger zones so that certain spawn points were only active if players were nearby.
