Alright, I've gotten some game-play into Pegasus, a Forge map for the Halo 5 Beta. Here's what I've found out so far: - Areas: You remember that little indicator above your mini-map telling you where you are? It seems that you can set those now. Perhaps it ties in with Spartan chatter? - Circular Pieces: Looks like a possibility. I'll investigate it and see if it's true. I'll check whether they're just rounded corners or not. Edit. There are in fact, cylinder pieces. They come in multiple shapes and sizes. It seems that some "building blocks" will have rounded edges, while others will not. - Enviromental: I managed to look outside of the map. The "background" is either incredibly shoddy, or trees are back. It seems that they are placed imperfectly. I also managed to see that the "ground" that Pegasus is hovering above (Pegasus is in fact, floating above the ground) is disconnected with the rest of the mountain. Under it, I can see water. This could mean that the mountains themselves were built in Forge. - Fog: It seems that it may be possible for players to set fog. Alternatively, it may be a means of hiding the background. - Death Zones: Trying to escape from Pegasus will instantly kill the player. Death barriers have made a return. - Lake: It looks like the lake from Awash has returned. Looking out of Pegasus, you can see the water. It's possible that the mountain that Pegasus is built on may be an object. - Pallete: Looks like we're back to white UNSC themed objects. It seems that object coloring has carried over. I'll keep jumping into games and send back updates to this thread. Post findings as well, and I'll add them to the list.
I'll bet the texture & color of the forge items aren't set. I'm sure this is just a blank map for the beta. I can't see them being humble enough to release the objects without some kind of texture or design, thogh I like the plain blank palette Pegasus has. It looks cool to me & I am overall liking the way the forge looks.
Alright, after a bit of Gameplay, I've more or less confirmed that Spartan Chatter is in fact, related to the callout zones on Pegasus. That's an extremely good sign for us Forgers.
Looks like you can color the primary and secondary parts of an object. Look at Pokephile's video for more info
Gamecheat13 on youtube also put out a video on Halo 5 forge. It could suggest what kinds of objects in the environment can be set in forge. For example, some of the larger rocks looked completely solid when the camera panned under the terrain. They look huge.
At first I was sceptical, but I'm getting more and more excited about Halo 5's Forge. Especially the huge rock formation pieces, the rounded objects and the fact that we can finally color the majority of an object are some really promising additions to Forge.
