Hello, I have just finished a very big map set in the air, called OURANOS Base. However, when I tested it, I found out the main way of getting around the map(if we forget about the aerial vehicles) is broken: the man cannons relying the main floating island to the bases do not work properly anymore. When I first did that part, I could go back and forth very easily on foot, on mongooses, on warthogs and etc. but now the people/vehicles using the man cannons do not follow the initial trajectory, instead going back and forth between the man cannons without being able to quit the trajectory. I could make the ledges go a bit further but then it would be less fun. Any suggestions on how to fix this, could it be because I have too many objects?

Posting some images or a video walk-through would be pretty beneficial in helping you fix your problem. It's hard for me to get a idea of your map from just the description.

There you go. Man cannons going forth and back from blue base to the center will shoot you completely above or in the base and those of red base to and from island will shoot you back and forth or just not far enough and you'll fall. It's a symmetrical map and these are the same man cannons yet their power is different. When I started the map, with those man cannons, I could go get across each sides and the center very easily on foot, on a mongoose and on a warthog, it would land perfectly. Not the case anymore. I then removed and replaced the man cannons and problem got uniform, shooting back and forth between every man cannon. How can I fix this? Is map overloaded?

Use teleporters for something on that sort of scale so you can have consistent gameplay.

I don't want to change it, I want to fix it. It worked very well when I first made and something obviously broke it. The point is, this is an aerial map, with land vehicles rushing toward and in between the bases through platforms and through the air, exposed to snipers, hornets, mounted machine guns, plasma pistols, etc. If they could just vanish through a portal, that would be no fun. The way it was initially, before I completed the bases, made gameplay very fluid and perfect for BTB. Now, if I could fix those man cannons, I'd have a balance between on foot transportation(via the bases and a narrow tunnel relied by teleporters, providing a safe haven from vehicles and offering nice gun fights, a way to make CTF games more exciting. And paired with that three platforms providing fast-paced, fluid, vehicular and BTB fun and the bases and the aerial fights, it would make a very interesting game. But to do so, I need to fix those man cannons, who are crucial to 1/3 of the gameplay, of the map.

    Hmmm...
There seems to be a lot going on here and I want to be sure I understand the issue.

The lifts from red base to center and the lifts from center to red base are the only issue?

They did shoot you over no problem, but now you get ping ponged back and forth between the two sides?

If this is the case, perhaps changing the lift set up might allow for them to operate properly, or at least allow you to perfect their shooting range. Here's my idea. Move the lifts so they are not directly in the path of each other. Red to center lifts will carry you not in the trajectory of the center to red lift and center to red lift will not carry you in the trajectory of red to center lift.

If the lifts are still not powerful enough and they're not carrying the vehicles far enough you could extended the lifts forward with geometry, or try adding an additional lift to give it more umph.

I'm not sure why they'd work once and then mess up later, but I'm also not sure why Certain Affinity shipped the 3x3 shorts with a texture that z-fights with itself. **** happens I guess. Just gotta figure out some sort of work around.

Just did. I removed objects that were only visual and thus uncrowded the map and now it works fine. Can't wait to test it in BTB. By the way, how do I film my preview? Because I can't figure out how to import/save videos from theater to my fileshare and even if I could, I couldn't recuperate it online, because there is no out of game fileshares.

    Cool.
Glad you got it figured out.
I usually just run around the map and then double tap the xbox button and then hit x to record. You can use the Upload app on the xbox to edit your videos and save them to the xbox clips website here.

    http://xboxclips.com

Where you can find them and take the link and add them to your thread.
