Encasement is a 4v4 map in Halo 2 Anniversary. The map will be compatible with CTF, Team Slayer, and Swat. The map revolves around a symmetrical two base and center structure design with an elevated pathway leading from each base to the other and with a cave system from the bases to the center structure. I am undecided on what weapons I should include so any ideas would be appreciated.
As epic as this looks & the song makes it sound, you have one major problem. The only way to get from red side to blue side is the middle room with the skinny doors & 2 windows once a team gets the lead in any game they can just post up at the door & window & destroy any attemp of the other team getting out of their own base.
I'm liking Encasement ScareCrow. I think CTF will play well on it as my favorite CTF maps kind of have those base to base style and a clear 50 yard line. I'm not sure if it was intentional but Gold is a serious choke point at the moment and as Zombie mentioned might lead to some campy gameplay. I'd really like to see another route added on the other side of the map either into, under, or on top of Gold. Maybe even adding a smaller structure on the opposite side of the street that connects to each side of Gold? Just throwing out some ideas. Overall you've got a great aesthetic theme tying the map together and I'm loving the angled nature of the streets coming out of the bases and into the middle. What weapons/power-ups were you thinking about for the map and also their locations? I will say the map is overall a little on the dark side as well and that's not a Star Wars reference. lol The Awash environment's lighting can be a bit dark and can pose some real challenges when forging on it. I'd suggest lowering or angling your cliff pieces surrounding your bases to bring in more light into the map and highlight your great piece usage.
Thanks for comments from you both. I have taken your ideas into account and I added a cave that goes from each base to the center of gold. I approached the issue concerning the lighting of the map and i lightened it up a little. I will have an updated video up some time. Any other critiques would be appreciated. Also, concerning the weapon placement i am unsure of what types of weapons i should include (specifically powerweapon)
