    I love this video.
It really shows the progression of forge objects that we had and the skills you've gained over these years. I really enjoy how you incorporated the environment into your maps the further we get into the video. Really gives your maps a nice texture and color constant.

Thanks. I really appreciate it. I did come a long way right along with forge itself. Hopefully when MCC is fixed my skill will continue to progress!

The first H4 map on Impact in the video, I remember getting a decent number of games on that. Probably was one of the more enjoyable of your maps for me. I'm a bit astounded by the sheer volume of maps you've been able to pump out. Not trying to sound like a ****, but it's hard to imagine any of them were refined to a point of excellence due to what I can only assume were short design cycles. Try slowing down your roll with H2A and really work on whittling individual projects to a point of excellence where players will enjoy playing on them regularly rather than a just a handful of times before shelving. Pumping out so many only serves to water down your talents and the potential of your designs.

I agree it hurts the quality of the maps, but the experience you gain from designing more maps allows you to learn more lessons about design in the long run instead of only understanding the few designs you spend your time on. It really comes down to why you forge. Do you do it to learn, do it for other people's approval, or just for fun. Because honestly what does spending a ton of time on a forge map do for you besides help you understand the design of it.

Not saying your wrong for thinking that way, but personally spending to much time on a single design can put you in a box as a designer, and cause more harm than good to you as a designer.

Oh I agree completely. I've put myself in boxes like such several times over.

Just like I have squandered many many maps with potential.

That's great stuff. I agree that I like how we can see the evolution of Forge in general. I remember having to merge things into the ground on Foundry, etc. I wish I could track down all the pics of maps I've worked on...

No doubt! The beginning of the video brought back so much nostalgia of the foundry days, the pics and the music took me back. I know it's just a game but when we spent SO much time creating maps with the merging, interlocking, save & quiting & such it seems like it was such a big part of my life lol. Your foundry maps are among the few I 1st saw before I could forge & are what attracted me to it. I probably even sent you a noob message on live begging you to show me how you shoved pieces into the ground. You weren't the only one I sent them to tho, haha. Good video, you've put a lot into forge & I've watched you the whole time. Good job, you've inspired me yet again.

@snhnitzel I forge merely for fun. However just because the maps don't appeal to you does not mean they aren't quality maps. Just for a different brand of player. Loads of my maps were played regularly by people until the end days of each game, so people do enjoy some of them regardless of time spent working on one at a time. Some projects I only work on for a few weeks where other I work on for months and months. Some need more work where some function exactly as intended after the first test and even then I do refine it until it played exactly how I want it too. Having so many projects going on allows me to explore other styles and keep things fresh without rehashing the same designs and design corks over and over, which in turn keeps it fun to forge. Also, just because I have a quanity of maps doesn't mean I don't take my time planning each and every aspect of some of them. Of course here and there I finish a map that I'm not fond of to the point where I want to put the time into it, and some I don't plan out before hand however, the majority (not all) of the maps in this video had went through loads of testing, refining and changes before I called it quits, even while I was managing other projects.

All that being said, I'm not exactly disagreeing with you but I can't agree with you fully and I'm not forging to get internet famous or something. It's nice to have people love my maps but I do is almost 100% because this is what I like to do. The love from others is just a plus. :)

Another random note. I'd rather throw out 20 maps with 10 quality ones that people keep playing than to have 3 projects I refine for the rest of my forging career, for a lack of better term. Because someone is going to like the odd one out and that alone makes it worth while to me.
