You arrive home after a year abroad. You expect your family to greet you, but the house is empty. Something's not right. Where is everyone? And what's happened here? Gone home is an interactive exploration simulator. Interrogate every detail of a seemingly normal house to discover the story of the people who live there. Open any drawer and door. Pick up objects and examine them to discover clues. Uncover the events of one family's lives by investigating what they've left behind. Go home again. http://www.gonehomegame.com So yes I've beaten the game, you can beat it within a few hours. I'd like to talk to someone about it. Has anyone played it?
You can 8eat it within a few minutes. Literally a few minutes. I guess it's a cool concept 8uuuuuuuut the price tag is way to expensive to justify so little game play.
I know why they charged that much (because money is nice), but yeah for that it felt pretty short. I'm glad that someone was trying something knew. Ending spoiler... Spoiler I kind of wish they didn't do the "happy ending" with her sister.
honestly I suppose this is some attempt at the whole "vidya games is art" thing 8ut really i feel like it's not only pretentious 8ut also pandering to the tum8lr youth of today. and it's waaaaaaaay too expensive
The sister storyline did seem to pander a little to the tumblr crowd. I did like going through the mother and father stories. It wouldn't make a good story if everything was okay in the family. I enjoyed what I played, and I may be repeating myself, but I like that someone did something a little new.
Yeah, I do think it was a refreshing 8reath of fresh air into gaming in general, which is, in my hum8le opinion, a dying medium. If I were in charge of it, I would've released it as pay as you go, a la In Rain8ows, so the people who don't want to spend 20 dollars on a 2 minute game can play for free and enjoy the art and the people who love it can support the artists.
