Hey everyone, I was exploring some forge movement-mechanics and I wanted to share my creation. I call it the infinite conveyor belt. aka watch out for boxes. This piece could be constructed in various ways and I found myself exploring several different "environments" all in the same piece. This thing aint exactly pretty but I hope it will give some forgers a little inspiration to incorporate more of these mechanics in their race maps. You can get the map here Conveyor Belt or off my file share: Whtdidntdiddydo. The piece is not incredibly challenging to create but it can be made much better with more patience when placing many of the pieces, especially the Station Cores. You will notice in this that the Station Cores are not all in sync, which can cause boxes to remain in place at times. They are also not aligned properly as to allow the revolving pieces on the cores to be flush along the x-axis (lack of foresight I guess =\). This piece was a lot of fun to make and I felt like I gained a lot of experience. Create your own conveyor belt or build off of mine then send me your creation!
Screenies Here's a few screen shots just for flavor. You can see more on my file share. Check it out!
Downloaded it. It's a good idea but It's not exactly a smooth conveyor belt. Also I don't really see what it can be used for, I see no use for a conveyor belt in Halo.
If I remember correctly, this map (Hephaestus) has a working conveyor belt on it. I have no idea if it's the same method you used.
I don't see much use either other than aesthetics or obstacles for race maps. I wanted to share this creation for that reason. Maybe someone will test it out and have a eureka moment. Also, it could be made to be smooth, it just requires good placement of Sation Cores and lots of patience to get them synced.
