“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
    ― William Arthur Ward

I don't doubt the tried and true method of your typical forge sites, places where we can post our content, allow others to download and try our own creations out so that they may help us improve on our designs, but there are a certain selection of forgers who are deterred in the earlier phases of their forge experience, mainly due to the lack peer to peer interaction, sure they can join our Testnights, but at the least all they generally receive is our harsh straight to the point criticism, and often it causes them to lose interest. Without some personal interaction, the new forgers have no idea to look up to for advice, where to post their maps, how to appeal to certain demographics of players.

What I want to see is a collection of forgers to help on a more 1 to 1 basis. Essentially following the individual through the design, build, test, post sequences of building maps. Not necessarily holding the forgers hand but stepping in and helping the new forger when they need the help or advice. With this sort of attention to the new forgers we will retain more forgers, more content and a closer, better community of individuals.

The process is a simple one, I'd like volunteers to spend maybe 20 to 30 mins a couple times a week to assist with the newer forgers, help them build their maps, and offer advice when they need it. Teach them the basics of forge. I would prefer the veterans add 1 or 2 to their friends list to track progress, and so that you can be reached easily by the guys.

If you're interested in piggybacking a forger into the experience leave a post here, or send me a pm and we can get you set up with one of the new guys.

Same thing if your interested in getting a mentor, just leave a post or send me a pm.

I intend for this thread to be a place where you can volunteer to help, if you're not volunteering, then please refrain from posting.

I'd be up for helping people.

Not that I'm a great forger veteran by any stetch of the imagination, but I'd be willing to help none-the-less.

Awesome we're a tad short on newbies, I'm looking over 3 right now, if you'd like to take on one of mine I'm cool with that.

"Noob" is a terribly offensive term.

I might be able to provide my own (god this sounds like a slave trade of some kind and I feel terrible about it) via my Forge Feedback thread over on waypoint.

There are two new-ish forgers over there (that have posted some decent designs) that might benefit from this... Again, that sounded elitist and wrong on so many levels...

My Skype is redemption1272, AKA Richard Bremner. I Can do 1 on 1 lessons with forgers through share screen and help give other points of view.

Take a look up on the thread there, a fellow named Redemption is open for tutoring, just give him a message over Xbl, and I'm sure he'll be happy to help.
