    Quantum

Hello everyone, this is a quick map that I threw together awhile ago and I've been simply too lazy to post it on Forgehub until now. While Quantum isn't an amazing in my opinion, it was still pretty fun to forge at the time and I'm happy to share out.
    Description:

Quantum, is a four base symmetrical slayer map, able to fit 2, 6 or maybe 8 players. (I have yet to test it with eight people)
The Concussion and Sniper Rifle are the two main power weapons on the map. One of each spawning above and below the middle structure. Random Ordnance consist of Needler, Sticky Detonator and Plasma Pistol. While the map may look basic, of which it kind of is, there are some neat quick jumps for players to use for their advantage.

The kind of games that I would recommend for this map would be 2v2s, FFA 6-player,
    and maybe KOTH and Oddball.

Map actually looks really great. Honestly, people calling maps like these basic really shows how bad a forger I am...

Two comments though. Firstly, top mid seems pretty open. I'd have to play it to be sure (and I'm more than willing to help test if you'd like) and spawning the two power weapons practically right beside eachother with such an easy way to get both of them seems like a bad idea.

As it is, one team could get both powerweapons in a matter of seconds, which seems pretty unfair...

Then again, you did mention random ordinance, and I'm not sure where those drop so...

Thanks for the comment SilentA98. And the reason why I would say 'basic' is pretty much due to little replay value for the map.

Last I played this map, like a month ago, top-mid felt very covered to me actually, but that's all dependent on how you use the cover you have up there. Besides, it's almost like a risk and reward for the chance to get a Sniper Rifle.

Although, I'll have to try some playtest to confirm the two power weapons being too close to each other.

The map seems like it has a pretty solid layout. One thing I would change however is two of the bases. You don't have to, but if it's meant for competitive play (like MLG, AGL, etcetera). What I would suggest is modifying the gold and green bases so that they are slightly different than red and blue and to each other. This will provide a less repetitive layout and you could put the two power weapons there, making it harder to take both power weapons at the same time. You could then put like an overshield or speed boost in the middle or whatever you think fits best. Even if it's not meant to be competitive, I would still take it into account to add variation to gameplay.

This looks a lot like Element to me. Layout is solid although the middle of the map looks like it'll be a deathtrap.

I haven't seen you since that old map of yours from the Tester's Guild back in Reach days, what's up?

You actually told me exactly what I was thinking about when I first saw Monolith on youtube when it was annouced. But by the time that thought came, the map was already for too much into production to warrant a drastic change like that. Plus, I had no ideas of what to do for those areas. Besides who wants another Midship map when you could have A WIZARD MAP!!! (Qui crickets) But yeah, it was mostly made for casual slayer stuff as well.

I knew it, I knew somebody was gonna spot that haha. Looking at a video now of Element, it's almost look like I'm stealing from the guy. xD

hmm, well I've just been kind of relaxing for the longest while. My folks and I have just gotten away from satellite internet and got this better deal with another company, so I've just been enjoying a ton of multiplayer. Speaking of which, let me know if your testing any maps and I'll see if I can join.

On the map making front, I just had a very hard time switching over to halo 4 forge when it first came out. I don't know why, but something about the forge pieces for me just feel too basic for me.(Even though I see people making some amazing maps with it) I did make this one small map focusing on rocks and while it looks kind cool imo, the gameplay still needs to some ironing that may never get done thanks to my new hobbies and interest. (One of them right now, being Starcraft 2)

    EDIT:
But then again, I do have a huge folder full of cruddy map sketches that could use some cleaning up some day.
