    June Edition

As some may have noticed, this months Forge Hub Favorites voting ended with each nomination competing with another for placement, so instead of featuring every one of them, we figured it would be best to include only first and second place this time around totaling four maps overall. Even though they will not be included in this edition of FHF, I encourage everybody to check out Black Widow, http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-4-standard-maps/145764-ceres.html, and http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-4-standard-maps/145840-epsilon.html. Without further ado, here are your choices for the June Forge Hub Favorites!

    2nd Place

    Speedrun | by petetheduck
    Players | 8-16
    Gametypes | Speedrun - Survival

"Once the city used to pulse with energy. Dirty and dangerous, but alive and wonderful. Now it's something else. The changes came slowly at first. Most didn't realize, or didn't care, and accepted them. They chose a comfortable life. Some didn't. And those who refused to conform were pushed to the sidelines, criminalized. They became our clients. We call ourselves Runners. We exist on the edge between the gloss and the reality: the mirror's edge. We keep out of trouble, out of sight, and the cops don't bother us. Runners see the city in a different way. We see the flow. Rooftops become pathways and conduits, possibilities and routes of escape. The flow is what keeps us running, keeps us alive." - Faith Conners

Speedrun is a mini-game very reminiscent of gameplay featured in Mirrors Edge, and the "Indiana Jones" design tasks players to escape the rolling doom that follows only a few meters behind them. However, petetheduck has added his own twist to the game; instead of running from the usual sphere of flames, players must now keep up with the objective zone that encompasses it. Sounds easy, right? What if I told you players who stray too far from said zone are frozen in place, forced to wait for their impending death? Still not enough? Take a glimpse at the design. Featuring various routes and jumps, the map does well to incorporate variety into each round while still posing the ever-present risk of falling down to the deep waters of Forge Island. The game plays best with large groups, so add it to your list of party events!

Ender | by The Fated Fire
    Players | 4-8
Gametypes | Capture the Flag, Extraction, King of the Hill, Oddball, Regicide, MLG, Infinity Slayer, Slayer, SWAT

The majority of you may already be familiar with Black Site, an entity that has graced both the Rumble Pit and Flood playlists in War Games. The Fated Fire has returned with an alternative rendition of that design, this time being constructed on the plateaus of Forge island under the similar name, Ender. Reforged to adhere to Throwdown settings, Ender remains true to its original while having purged expressed concerns through the incorporation of additional pathing and a structured center. Gameplay generally revolves around upper-level control whilst supporting your teammates' pushes into particular points of interest. Nevertheless, the extended LoS the upper level offers results in its vulnerability to various positions around the design, thus emphasizing strong coordination and strategy. Ender is designed for Capture the Flag gameplay as mentioned by the author, so be sure to grab her for your next lobby!

Artifice | by Blaze and Mr. Pokephile
    Players | 4-8
Gametypes | Capture the Flag, Extraction, King of the Hill, Oddball, Regicide, MLG, Infinity Slayer, SWAT

Artifice is one of the larger, more segmented fours maps set in the deep space of Impact. Putting the design aside for a moment, a notable aspect of the map is its unique choice of weaponry that includes two Scattershots, a Concussion Rifle, and an Energy sword. As with the design, the three weapons encourage and cater to short-range engagements, heavily emphasizing close-combat gameplay. However, Artifice does not feature such gameplay exclusively. Blaze and Pokephile have purged any complaints about a lack of range variety through the addition of several lines of sight that span across the design making for a solid mixture of encounter types. If you can manage a lobby of eight, Artifice is a must play.

    1st Place

    2 | by Psychoduck
    Players | 10-14
Gametypes | Capture the Flag , Extraction , Slayer

"Ladies and gentlemen, our begging worked. In Halo: Reach, Psychoduck made a fantastic map called 'S'. It has since been featured on Youtube and various forums, loved by many, and become one of my favorite memories of testing maps in Bungie's last Halo title. It is only fitting that Duck would bring the map to Halo 4, though being the person he is, he needed to improve it. '2' has risen to become S's successor, and in the transition from Reach to Halo 4, Psychoduck has made a few changes. The great short-range and long-range combat remains a mainstay of this map, and the vehicle tracks manage to balance warthogs and foot soldiers better than most maps I have played. It remains a fantastic big team battle map, and for this month, it is Forge Hub's favorite map. Congratulations, Psychoduck." -xAudienceofone

That just about wraps up this month's edition of ForgeHub Favourites. We hope you're pleased with the maps that won this time around! If you have another map you would like to see in FHF, feel free to nominate it here.

Agreed. We're moving in that direction. We'll be starting it all off with a bang soon, but for now you should go nominate maps. for the next FHF :D
