There has been a lot of controversy over whether the next Halo is going to be "Halo 5" or not. I have compiled a video together explaining what makes the next Halo game likely to be called "Halo 5" and why it might not be "Halo 5". After making this video, @bsangel [343i's senior community manager] said this on twitter: "We're calling it Halo Xbox One right now." in response to @biowolf93's "call the new halo halo 5? Lots of controversy" This leads me to think that the next Halo could very well be a "side-game" sort of like "Halo: Reach" maybe 343i is just thinking of a word to put after "Halo:" ...who knows. Overall, this whole situation can be kind of confusing - for more information, watch the video for sources that lead towards the name being "Halo 5" and some sources that lead towards the name not being "Halo 5": One more thing, if the next Halo is a "side-game" like Halo: Reach -- what should the word after "Halo: ______" be? Any ideas?
It is especially interesting that 343 does not know what to call the new game when the obvious title would be Halo 5. This is minor evidence supporting the theory that there will be no Forge in the next Halo if it is not important enough to be in the Reclaimer Trilogy. Halopedia classifies the new game as Halo Xbox One and separate from the trilogy, but Halo Nation refers to it as Halo 5 and the second installment of the three.
The only way I will accept no forge in the next Halo is if it is being ditched for a completely new and better system. Think Trials.
what if, they ditched forge, and they replaced it with nothing. Because project spark is coming out and they just thought, "**** it, if they want to make **** they can do it in that."
uh they wouldn't ditch Forge for Halo 5. If this is a spin off, then think ODST. Or spin off as in a Halo 4 Part 2 type of thing? I assume he's trying to find a way to bring Cortana back or something. Idk I'm just speculating.
Halo: Rebirth. that's my guess. I think that 343 is def. doing a side game because they wouldn't dare do a main game without cortana.
I am trying to find the article, so anyone who may know of it, it would be awesome if you could help me out. Anyways, the article was released shortly after the release of Halo 4, and it had a quote from Jessica Shea (Senior Community Manager for H4, aka @bsangel) saying something along the lines of Halo 5 and 6 will be available on the XBOX 360. This was due to all of the talks of the next gen Microsoft console. I think this is a clear indicator that Halo: XBOX One is not Halo 5. As of now, it has only been advertised as an exclusive XBOX One title. So yeah, I think Halo 5 is not what we saw at E3, I believe what we saw is a spin off series, or a prequel-sequel. I think they want to toy around with the XBOX One and it's Cloud based system and servers, not to mention graphics. While at the same time making money. It would be stupid for them not to take advantage of the XBOX One, but it would also be stupid for them to release Halo 5 exclusive to the XBOX One. These are my opinions, based on what I have seen. Plus there is no 5 after it anywhere, so why would everyone start automatically calling it Halo 5? Leave the speculation out of it. I will edit this post with the article when I find it.
Actually, It's the Reclaimer Cycle now. They decided to add a title to extend the story. Too bad I won't be getting an Xbox One to forge on any of the future Haloes exclusively released on it.
