I'll keep this short. One of my all time favorite forge maps is Blackout8SIX's Cyanic in Forge World. My friends and I love it so much we wanted it in Halo 4. But given that sprint is available by default we modified the design slightly. That being said I'm calling this a "modified remake". With the loadout system and to keep with the original only three weapons are placed on the map: a rocket launcher (center), and a sniper rifle and sticky detonator in either tower. There is also an overshield bottom center, again keeping with the original map's layout. Center looking at red base (it's symmetrical). This is a slightly outdated shot as I've added some cover. From blue base window looking back to center The opposite end of blue base looking out to the window Second floor of blue base - looking at the window from the opposite angle. Still have to fix the shield sticking out of the teleporter In-Game Walkthrough video
I agree with zandril. Need a couple more screens and an overview. I can't get a good idea of the map from the screens given.
Not originally, but the WIP discussion led to an all-around permission, as Blackout8six wanted to see what I would do with the map. You can check out the WIP thread for the info. Infringement wasn't intended (rather I wanted to pay homage), and after that was understood all was well.
Per request I've finally uploaded a quick walkthrough video of the map. Also per suggestion I've added cover to the center of the map, which isn't shown in the first screenshot, but is in the video.
This map looks good, but I'm really not a big fan of the double OS/Rocket spawn. Those are two of the most powerful and game-changing pickups possible and should be in places that players have to go out of their way to collect. It is unthinkable to have them both so close together, and in a position that is more advantageously located than not. If this was in the original map, I would consider modifying it to keep one, maybe placing it bottom mid.
Nope, just one of each. I tried to keep it close to the original as I wanted to respect the original author's design, but I may modify it for more competitive players. I think what I may do to satisfy everyone is swap the Sticky Launcher (in one of the towers) with the Rocket Launcher. The sticky gun is powerful, but demands fairly good accuracy to get a kill, and takes some time to reload.
