I'm assuming this has gone on hiatus? There's no problem should that be the case, but an update would be excellent.
We've all been really quite busy, unfortunately. We're close, I think, but not quite ready to announce anything. I know that for a few of us, there are recent things popping up in our own lives that allow less time to do anything regarding Halo, which has made getting together and testing these difficult. I don't know what it is for everyone, but I know for example that Nutduster's job his him jumping through metaphorical hoops, and I just got hit with some problems in the family and exams. We're doing what we can, but like I said, there have been a bunch of outside factors just not allowing us to get this done as quickly as we would have liked. It's coming, and we're close, but we just haven't been able to gather to get through the last chunk. I do apologize for this on bahalf of all of the staff. i understand how frustrating the silence has been, and we're working with what we can to get this all finalized for you all. If you have any more questions about this or anything relating to the tournament, feel free to ask us.
When are the list of contending maps going to be posted? I want to check them out and suggest them for Doju's upcoming 2v2 tournament (tentative May 26), but I don't know whether there will be enough time to test the maps and get them in for players to practice on beforehand..
About 2/3 of the maps have been tested. I hate to put a time frame on this, but if I were to estimate, the list would be up early May.
This is the new an improved FH, this can't be happening. They said they could assure that these things would not happen, just sayin.
The gametype should just wait and get updated along with the weapon tuning update so we'll have the legit 4sk BR. Also, the POD's should be removed. There's no shame in it now that it's been so long!
I love it when the hard work and effort of many forgers goes up in smoke. Solid effort guys, you only had 2 months to get this together.
You could always host a community vote. Place all maps into the poll and allow people to vote for like 5 maps. Allow the poll to carry on for about 4 weeks then take the top 5 maps or w/e. You want the community involved more, allow us to run this ****. You don't need to take 2 weeks to write up a 5 page story/journal about it either, no one reads that **** anyways. Just post the poll and write "vote for your favorite 5 dust-up submissions!" Should take you all of 5 minutes to make.
I know I just recently stepped down from my Staff position, but hopefully I can shed some light on the situation here. The contest is not dead and is definitely being worked on. Last I checked, at least. The problem now lies in the fact that all of the members of Staff who ever had any initiative to test your maps have all recently resigned. Since everything is now moving at a snail's pace, you can rest assured that it may be a long while until you see the second stage of this competition. Sucks, I know, and part of me wishes I had made more time to test these back it all started. However, although it is slow going, testing has not fully stopped. But yeah, for the most part, the organization of the remaining staff in testing these is horrendous. It's difficult from a member of staff's perspective, but horrendous from a community member/participant's perspective. I wish I could be of any more help, but if anyone has more questions I'll try my best to answer them.
