    Google I/O 2013: Keynote - YouTube

Google has added a streaming service similar to Spotify or Pandora. It costs $9.99 a month, which is a little pricey for my blood.

Google is adding a game center like service to Google Play which will include cloud saves, multiplayer support, leaderboards, and achievements. So basically it's going to be Google's version of Apple's Game Center.

All sorts of changes have rolled out to Google+ including a redesigned UI, vastly improved photo abilities, and a restructuring of Google Hangouts (which will kill Google Talk over time).

Google Now is getting reminder cards, cards about books, tv shows, movies, etc (I'm guessing if you search for a particular tv show on google enough times you'd get a card reminding you of show times or show information). Also the desktop version of Chrome is getting voice search capability.

Lastly, (and I didn't feel like finding an image for this), Google Maps is getting a bunch of new features. If you search for some location on google, and then type in something like "how do I get there from here" Google will understand from the context of your last search that you mean the place you just searched for and that "here" means your current location.

And that's it for now. No huge news about Chrome OS or Google Glass just yet but there's still time for that.

Here's a good article detailing what was not in the Google I/O Keynote speech

You missed possibly the weirdest part: a Galaxy S4 sold with stock Android, unlocked (both networks and bootloader) and with the promise of timely updates.

Good thread all the same, really enjoying the conference so far, especially Larry's (rather hoarse) Q&A. I wouldn't mind trying All Access, which is only $7.99/m if you start your free trial before then end of June BTW, but it doesn't seem to work outside of the US as I just get a server error when trying to start my trial.

The new Play Music app is nice though. I like the look and it's smoother than the old one, though I wish I could set it to take me straight to my library when opened.

Android studio looks like a huge step up for developers, very visual and aimed at addressing form factor concerns/device fragmentation. That needed to happen.

Still no news of 4.3 or a new Nexus 7. Those are the two things I'm most interested in, and since they weren't in the keynote then I guess I'll probably have to wait a little while longer. They always seem to release a new version of Android with a new device, and since the N7 rumours point to a June or July release, it may not be until then. Sadface if so.

Android Studio looks great and I hope it works out. It actually makes mew ant to trade in my iPhone for an android just because it seems more accessible than the iPhone at the moment for development.

I'm not sure how popular their music service will be, considering the number of similar services that are out there but competition is always nice, especially when it's Google. Nothing mind blowing, but I don't think it had to be.

S'all in da links Peg, nothing left out :)

I didn't specifically mention the stock android GS4 because its rather meh news. Especially considering the 649 bucks they want for it. I think that's a clear sign Samsung was not ok selling it for anywhere near a competitive price point with their touchwiz, more locked down version. Granted the other ones usually come subsidized with a contract and that's why they're cheaper but almost $700 with tax is waaaay too much for a phone, no matter how nice the specs.

I too was expecting some news about the next Android OS update or really any hardware news. Nothing about Glass despite that being literally the only reason most people watched the live stream. The mirror API is apparently super closed and developers are having a tough time getting Glass to do anything neat so any updates Google could have shared about that would have been great. As a nexus 7 owner I was also interested in hearing about a new one. If they come out with a new one at the same price point as the first one, I'd trade in mine for a new one.
