    Map - Icarus

    Gametypes - Slayer, CTF, KOTH, Oddball, Extraction, Flood, BTB.

    Hey guys. made this today, i have had a fair bit of time up my sleeve this week so iv been playing with a few maps i recently created. and this is one of them...
    probably the biggest map iv made so far and most adaptable to different playlists (practically all of them).

    SO...as this map has heaps of game types that are playable on it some of the photo's have hectic amounts of spawns and whatever else. Sorry bout th busy screenshots but just ignore all that crap! All of the game types above are playable, this map is quite big as i said before so it would be best with at least 4 vs 4.

    Team slayer spawns - Red and blue base are opposite, with plenty of re-spawns as well..
    Regicide- standard spawns spread out around the map so your not instantly in a battle from the get go / re-spawns.
    Oddball / KOTH / Extraction - Same as slayer
    Flood - Humans start center of map (mostly level 2), zombies start outside edges (spread out on all sides, so watch your back)

    Layout for CTF - Both teams spawn in their own base (opposite each other, however the flag you protect is not in your base).
    Koth, Oddball and Extraction locations are spread out around the map on both levels so setting up for the next objective is more than a grenades throw away. however they are in fairly open spaces so get behind something to save your head being blown off.

    Weapons - As in most of my maps i do love to have the trusy ol' ROCKET LAUNCHER middle of the map. and this map is no exception. the rockets spawns fromt he start on regicide, slayer and CTF gametypes with 90 sec re-spawn and 1 clip extra.
    DMR, Lightrifle and BR are the only other weapons that are default for the map in most game types.
    Random Ordnance - Located in the enclosed rooms on top of the sand castle looking structure. these ordnance are involved in every game type. spanner in the works!

    Grenades
    - Frags only, located around the map.

    Forge Island has a nice-looking ocean, why block it off with those ugly wall coliseums?

    Also, this map's bottom floor is completely flat, wide open, and unnecessary to travel (you can get anywhere on the map using just the highest floor of the map), which makes me think it'll be a deathtrap. Sanctuary had something similar, but it had the carbine bridges and rocks, which made players less open and gave them opportunities to surprise players on the top levels. Implementing something like that would be cool.

    I think there is already a really good map called Icarus which was built on Ravine. I dunno if that matters or not.

    There is. Built by Canadian Echo. Don't think it's a huge deal though, since Icarus hasn't made it into matchmaking or anything.

    In screenshot 4, I would recommend making that ramp look a lot nicer as a block with a few ramps coming off detracts from the overall map. Also are people able to jump up to the middle platform from the ground? Also you should fix the platforms going to the middle platform so that you can walk from the sides to hte middle instead of having to jump over a barrier first.

    cheers for th feedback...i searched icarus and no result came up...so i thought it was sweet to go. oh well...you can jump onto the 1x1 blocks then onto the top middle, but im thinking up an easier way to do tht...ill try and do something about the screenshot 4's ramps too...point taken about the bottom middle being unnecessary. ill see what i can do. cheers guys.

    I will say that I'm the forger of the 4v4 map Icarus on Ravine and I will say that it is being reviewed for matchmaking. I dont mind if you use this name because no one owns names. But because my map is being reviewed, it would be easier to tell the maps apart if it were a different name. The map looks cool and will give er a test :)

    hey...its kinda hard to make original map names these days...sorry bout taking your name...i can change it if ya want. in fact i will now anyways :)
    just finished updating this map after i got all your feedback guys...will post new photo's and new link as soon as i change the name/ think of a new name!
    more feedback would be sweet on the new version Icarus mk.II / unknown name yet... :D
