Welcome to my third map preview in Halo 4, in chronological order the second map I forged. I am now already on the same count of maps as I was by the end of Reach (!). Either way, just like the other two, this map isn't completed just yet (although Destitute in Chains pretty much is), but once it will be, I will definitely post it on the forums when I get the chance. For now, feast on this piece of meat I'm offering you in the form of another Map Preview.

As you might've already guessed by the pictures, this Flood map continues to utilize my combination of tall buildings and warthog gameplay in an urban setting, just like a map I made in Halo Reach called "Deadborough". This, however, is not a remake of Deadborough, but rather just a new take on the same concept. The only things I re-used are pretty much what I already summed up above: tall buildings, warthog gameplay, urban setting. At this moment I'm still tweaking things in the map since I'm now more used to Halo 4's Forge physics, but the overall layout won't change too much from what you can see below!

Feel free to leave me any suggestions, especially if you've played the map. (There's a very old version of it in my fileshare if you'd like to check it out. I wouldn't recommend playing that map in an actual custom game though.)

PS: The first part of the name of the map refers to the time of the day at which the event took place (i.e. at dusk, around 8 PM). The second part refers to the memory of the people who had to stand against the zombie horde that day, and that they may not be forgotten.

I just realised there's an S missing. My bad ;P

But in all seriousness, it looks pretty good. The city theme is very strong and, although I never played Deadborough, I can see the inspiration from what I remember from screenshots. From the looks of it, it looks far bigger than the other map you've got previewing on Fhub at the moment, and I assume it plays very different?

Haha no problem, my gamertag is kind of strange anyway.

Yea it's definitely a lot bigger, and it plays differently too. This one is more focused on larger lobbies with both zombies running after the warthog and zombies invading the houses where other humans are holding out. Too bad you never played Deadborough though, you should try this one then. I added a lot more jumps in this map, which pleased Psychoduck a lot as he said there are too many people who don't realize what's most fun about the warthog: going over huge jumps. :)

Wowzers Castle... this looks bad ass. Aesthetically beautiful. The roads look perfect. The shadowing from the dynamic lighting looks superb against the buildings and walls. Really nice urban city map and looks like it has some great ins-and-outs to explore or hide out/hold up in. Warthog you say? Damn skippy! Excellent work bro. Can't wait to try it out.

LOL @ Flattened Roadkill Flood in 2nd Screenshot.

Haha didn't even see that yet! Funny. xD

Thanks, I tried hard on the roads so I'm glad you like them.

Was awesome playing this map a few days back, even though the gametype wasn't set up right I still had a great time. When will you release it?

Shouldn't take too long, I'm going to try and improve upon the design of some of the buildings but gameplay-wise it's almost done. By the way guys, here's a video of some beta-testing gameplay: (I don't think this is the game you're talking about though, Elliot.)

One of your funnest maps in my opinion REMkings. I love the complexity and originality in the buildings. I think re-imagining Deadborough was a great idea. You took the concepts that worked and gave it a whole new look. Really well designed holdouts for humans too. Just excellent.

Yeah, just like PA1NTS said, it reminds me a lot of Deadborough from Reach. I really enjoyed playing Deadborough, so I'll be sure to check this out when it gets released. Graet job my Dutch compadre! :)

That second screen from the bottom of your preview pretty much captures the structural perfection of your map. Takes a lot of thought to plan the layout of the first layer (outer structure) and then have room to play around with the second layer (inner structure). Having open space and closed space engagements is great for encouraging players to hide rather than cluster together for the entire game. Looks great.

Wut? I didn't even read the three comments above up to now! Never knew about them.
Ehm.. thanks guys! I'm a little late to the party, but these are definitely some nice remarks.

@PA1NTS: I just knew I had to bring back the core elements of Deadborough in some sort. Now that we have Forge Island though, I'm even going to make a second attempt - which means anything but giving up on this one, don't get me wrong! - but again, flavour it a bit differently in comparison to the Reach pal.

@Zigywig: First off, nice avatar ;)
Secondly, you should! Then we can play Destitute in Chains at the same time, and I can warm you up for my good old BIOC lobbies again. :)

@corkystnr: Not many people realize that, I'm very glad you do. I already tried doing that in Reach, whilst combining it with multiple levels too, as well as warthog gameplay; and the dynamic lighting expresses it only more, which is awesome.

Also, I've made some updates to this map since the last test. Humans can now take 2 hits instead of one, and this has proven to be a major improvement in terms of balance. Especially the warthog is now a lot more fun to use because you don't die as easy as you did in older versions of the gametype and map.
