Is it a Remake, Map Adoption or other?

So, I am currently working on a map that uses the layout of a previous Halo Reach map, but it is not an identicle remake, so what is it? If it use just the layout, and populate the map with seemingly different pieces, does it still garner the name "Remake"?

Or, would it be a map adoption? Being that it is from a Halo game, maybe adoption is not the term for it. Maybe it is an other, who would know this?

Depending on how heavy the inspiration is, it is either a modified remake or just heavily inspired (to the point where the original map deserves credit and mention).

Map adoption means that you're giving away an unfinished map. You don't have to use a prefix, and people will likely be confused if they aren't sure what you're remaking. The term you may be looking for would likely be successor or reimagination.

Both answers are right. It is heavily inspired from the original map and is also a reimagination of that map. Either one would suffice.

Remake with significant changes = Reimagination
I think you were confusing adoption with adaption? haha not sure.
