I don't think anyone who has loaded up forge at least once would need an explanation as to what a Loadout Camera is and what it's for, but how ExACTLY does it work? More specifically, how do I make sure that every player gets to see the map from a particular vantage point during the loading of the map? Do I need a separate loadout camera for each player? Or just one per team and one neutral? Thanks
You need a neutral cam if you want the same scene for everyone. If you set up team-specific ones, only that team will see through that ILC if it exists on the game. If you want Red Team (for example) to see through the same ILC as Blue Team, then use a neutral. You cannot have both neutral and team specific ILC's on the map and have the team with a specific one see through the default. Basically, you need to decide if you want each team to have their own views (and perhaps a default for FFA or what-have-you) or do you just want one default all teams (and players) use.
Is there a way to assign a different camera to each individual player though? For example, the spawn sequence dictates the order in which certain objectives are used. When used on the Loadout Cameras, will each one be assigned to a different player? If not, is there any method that achieves this effect?
I dont know of any way to individualize player ILCs. You could make each player go to a different team, and thus having 8 unique (team specific) cameras.
You can see what the camera is looking at? My screen always shows a picture that is so fuzzied/out of focus that I really don't see any point to the camera any longer.
I make a team specific camera for each team looking toward the team's base and one neutral camera for FFA. I don't see the need for a different camera for each play since you don't know the exact location they will spawn in (at least as far as I know).
cool. thanks for the info guys. I was asking about 1 per player because I thought I had FFA matches where some players saw a shot of the actual level and some saw the open area of one of the asteroids on IMact, for instance. I'll pay closer attention and see if I notice a pattern. and yea it sucks that the view is fuzzy, but IMO having ILC's (thanks for the acronym) is better so at least you get a fuzzy shot of your level instead of a fuzzy shot of nothing. what would also be nice is if the picture next to maps in the list could come from your ILC if marked Spawn Sequence 1. but instead, maps just show you a default pic for everything.
