Sentry So Sentry is my sole Dust-Up map submission. I aimed to make a small, clean and highly competitive map for the contest that whould please players of all levels. Sentry started out with the idea to nearly recreate the Ivory Tower rocket spawn. I've always felt it exemplified the idea of risk vs. reward the most out of any multiplayer map I've played. From there my goal was to have a top-mid that was fun to fight over, and easily contested. After that, the rest of the map formed with ease in a very natural way. The aesthetics on Sentry are the best I've ever done. I wanted to make the map seem unified from early on without a cluttered feel. Then it was pointed out to me that orientation was a difficult task to achieve, so after some brainstorming, I took inspiration from Halo 3's Narrows. I always thought it was genius how one side of that map was bright and untouched, while the opposite side was dark and windswept. Luckily for me, the building location that I chose conveniently provided a natural dark side, all I needed to do was emphasize this a bit more via aesthetics. In the end, blue side is a darker and rockier plays pace than its red counterpart. Orientation is no longer an issue. Lastly, I'd like to say that Sentry is a creation that I'm very proud of and I hope you will enjoy it to. Please take a look at the screenshots below. I am so excited to play this one. It looks beautiful and very nicely forged. I kind of like the forerunner silver flooring on this one, nice work on that. It basically looks like a more interesting Ivory Tower. Nice, work Cluck! I'll surely be giving you some criticisms later if I come up with any.
Bump. I saw a map built in this area before, but this one definitely looks much more creative and clean. Love how you have a balcony overlooking the Ravine. Downloading this.
that pick of the rocket spawn definitely envoked Ivory Tower in my memory, but the rest of the map is nice and original. making a note to grab this later
I grabbed it. Looks really nice man and really clean forging. Excellent use of textures. I find it very difficult to forge inside of that area but you pulled it off well. She's a keeper!
