2nd Alternate Ending

Its probably just a scam.. Trying to make you waste like a week trying to do it then find out that there is no 2nd alternate ending

 

Happens all the time, and it's usually quite obvious that it's not true, like now.

 

Well so did your friend then. Fine, do it and find out, but when it's not there don't come crying to me.

 

Okay this rumor is kinda of correct, in the way that the rumor was slightly different.
The story was, finish Halo3 you get the ending
Finish Halo3 in legendary, get a secret ending
Finish Halo3 SLASO, get a second secret ending. (Solo Legendary All Skulls On)
Turned out to be untrue, search youtube for SLASO ending and you will see.

With that info people thought maybe you needed to finish all levels in SLASO from start to finish to unlock it, because of the different opacities of the "Difficulty Shields".
If you go to your Halo3 save and look at the shields you've unlocked for the campaign some will be semi-transparent and others won't be. For example I have finished all the levels in legendary but a couple of the levels have semi-transparent legendary shields for some reason.

As far as I know, nobody knows why some of the shields end up like that. There are a lot of rumors, but nothing proven. And no I have not finished any level on SLASO.

Anyway, a couple people have finished every single level, including the first cinematic in SLASO and still no third secret ending.

I am assuming it's untrue, I guess people want it to be true because the ending to Halo3 is somewhat open ended and anti-climactic... Anyway... That's the story =]

I don't know of any other game with such a dedicated fan base as Halo. Anyone remember www.ilovebees.com for Halo2? People waiting at phone booths for phone calls from the AI =]
Great publicity stunt, worked well. I certainly followed the story. Derga or Darga? Can't remember her name, she was my faveourite =]

and ... no alternate ending other than the clip of the 'mech' planet, and you get to see MC take his shoes off ... only to reveal another pair of shoes

just kidding about the shoes, i just finished watching the Halo 1 ending 'helmet removal' at HBO

rank is not a true measure of a Halo player - i'm not very interested in Matchmaking, i like Campaign and Forge - most of the MM stats other than BTB, which i do like, and Grifball, are from others playing on my account

you are also looking at the wrong stats - here try this (note the page number), and this - that was a practice run, the final run will be under 7 minutes - i did a segmented speed run of Delta Halo Legendary (from H2) in 3:08 which included grabbing the Envy Skull - these stats are not meant to be threatening...but, merely enjoyed

also an admin at HighSpeedHalo.net - 2 hours is how long it takes me to finish the Legendary Campaign when i play just for fun (EDIT: that goes for Halo 1 & 2 as well)

However, by playing the last level with all skulls on and legendary difficulty set, you become one of the only 25 people to complete a level SLASO (Single-Player Legendary All Skulls On). And if you complete the entire campaign like this, you will become the third person to do it, according to this Bungie update:

I say go for it if you have the time. Although, considering that the update was about 4 weeks ago, Im thinking a few people took it upon themselves to bump up the number of Any-Level SLASO and Full Campaign SLASO completions.

 

If I actually cared about rankings, I'd probably have General by now. However, I do not go on Matchmaking often. More than once, I find myself playing belligerent fools that have no idea what forge is.

i have the time - it's #14 on my Halo to-do-list

except that #12 is to organize and catalog 1900 video links for HBO, so it might take a while

so, to summarize, no special ending in Halo 3, but there are still hidden surprises in each of the 3 Halo games

 

There's lots of em. you can find them on you tube. plenty of people compiled the easter eggs. however >_> you will find 1000.s of fake BS videos.

But the only other alternate ending is when you see the mech planet.

(Spoiler) Read the books. there are more than just 117 alive....

 

According to bungie, only two people with a live connection have finished the entire game SLASO.

I don't believe there is a third ending.

 

I quote us both. No alternate Secret endings. Only endings are the one were master cheif is floating around in the half of ship, and goes into the Cryo tube, then the extended version you get by playing Legendary, (has to be played the whole way through, either co-op or single doesn't matter, but you gotta beat every level from start to end on legendary) where the camera pans out of the ship, and the mech planet comes to life.

Again, read the fourth book in the halo series called "Ghosts of Onyx" to find wtf is up with this place.
