As in leaving, means to do nothing with anymore.
I joined back in January 2011 and started passionately forging not long after. Yes I had alot to learn as a little squeaking forge-cub. I was shitting out smelly, yucky piles of horse **** left and right and calling them masterpieces. As I began to learn the ways of competitive map layout, the more I looked back on how horrid my previous maps were. Only a few stood out from the crowd.
I, myself was a huge MLG wannabe and wanted to make amazing montages and sick clips for my youtube channel. The more I watched CauseofHell, Kampy, Sandman, etc., the more I sucked in comparison. Day after day I would play matchmaking over and over and hope to have that 1 lucky multikill opportunity to come, and they never did. Yes I wasnt great at the time, but it doesnt take a badass sniper to pick off scrubs going for the hill in the middle of the field in Koth. But sadly the best Ive ever risen up to was a sniper overkill. My gameplay was ****. My subscribers lingered around 50-60 as of today. I was helpless. School was slowly feeding on the marrow of my life as my grades dropped, and my gametime increased.
So I forged. And forged. And forged. And eventually my maps began to decrease in harsh critisicm and increase in favor.
Quite frankly, who doesnt love their own finished product? Whenever I seemed to create an awesome new map, I wanted to get a decent sized lobby to give feedback. This rarely EVER happened. All of the lobbys seemed to circle-jerk around certain people in the forging community (not going to name names). They tested map after map, and eventually as they hand leader to someone else (like me), they're all like, "well I gotta go guys, sorry. Ill catch ya on the flip." And back out. This usually creates a chain of people leaving until there ends up being about 2-4 people in a lobby, leaving the amount of players to test the map I have in store to a grain of rice.
This is possibly how many of my maps recieved little recognition. Yes there are several friends and forgehubbers that are generous enough to occasionally leave a comment or two. But whenever I see the people who have a **** ton of ass-kissers who are somehow dedicated to testing a small percentage of peoples maps, while others seek recognition for their hard-earned work.
Its kind of hard to compete with people who have been featured on youtube FHF about 50 times and have a reputation built up to freaking heaven.
Im not really being butthurt about anything. Im simply expressing my views of the entire system. And dont get me wrong, I think this is a wonderful and outgoing community. But theres a reason Ive lost interest in creating and/or posting maps here on forgehub. Most of my maps recieve about 10-15 downloads, and I just havent found the will to keep trying anymore.
Its been a hell of a time, But Im going to have to say goodbye. :l

If the fact that you werent eFamous on the hub was the reason you stopped forging, you need to get your priorities straight. Anyways, if you feel like leaving then leave, you dont need to write a damn essay on how nobody everlooks at anyones maps.

Face it, in the high traffic times the site had, there was an overwhelming amount of maps being posted, you cant reasonably ask for more 5 meaningful posts on your thread. So, you go and do whatever it is you're gonna do instead of forge, but don't expect sympathy from me.

As a wise man once said to me when I made these threads.

    Kbai.

I got the same treatment when I did this. If you want to go, go. If you like the community stay. Your choice. Don't make a thread about ti, just leave and say goodbye to some friends. Wish you would stay, but if you don't want to contribute anymore, fine by me.

Essentially, I feel the same way. It's been good to see you evolve and get better as a forger, and It'll be upsetting not to see you in future awesomeness.

That being said, you don't need to create a thread about it.
