I thought I would post this in case anyone else runs into it.  I was editing a map in Foundry and ended up with a box I could no longer grab - therefore I couldn't delete it, move it, or change its properties.  How it happened was this:

    1. I set the box to not respawn at start.
    2. I started a new round.
    3. I placed an object (a wall or another box) in a position so that it would intersect with the box; then used the save and quit option so this object would be held in the air where I had it.
    4. I reloaded my map.  The object from step 3 was in place as expected.  The box, unexpectedly, had spawned (should not have yet) and now I couldn't grab it or view its properties.  I waited to see if this would correct itself after the amount of time passed that would cause it to spawn normally, but it never fixed itself.

I tried a number of things to fix this which I won't bore you with.  Here's how I did eventually fix it:

    1. Created another box of the same type elsewhere on the map, and went into the runtime min and max, setting them both to the maximum value.
    2. Started a new round.
    3. When the round started the runtime min forced my original box to spawn normally, and I was then able to grab it like normal.

This has now happened to me a few times and the fix worked every time, so I thought I would make you guys aware of it.  If you get ungrabbable objects for this reason or any other unknown reason, try setting the runtime min for that type of object as high as possible, then start a new round.

heres ur answer ive noticed when you end a game and one of ur items is on not respawn on start the item will be sitting in its place in the beginning, all you have to do is change a new round and it will go back to being changable and picked up.

I could be mistaken, but I could have sworn I started a new round once or twice without success, until I changed the runtime min. Regardless, people should be able to find a solution from one method or the other.

Thanks, I've been having this problem too. I've deleted an entire map that was nearly complete because of that issue. Thanks for the tip.

All it is is lag, when this problem arises simply start new round and the box will no longer be there. The reason it is there in the first place is that the game thinks it is their but forge won't allow you to move an object that has not spawned. So, just start the round over before any of you go and delete half your maps.

When you start a new forge session (usually via save and quit) ALL objects are on the map. You will not be able to edit objects that are set to not spawn at start. You need to Start a New Round and either wait for them to respawn or force them to instantly respawn in order to edit them.

This has been my experience at all times when forging.
