Been working on my second H4 map. I hope I can get some constructive feedback on it. Its a really simple concept, Narrows 2.0. Symmetrical map with long and linear paths from red to blue base with predictable flow and common choke points. This isn't a remake, more of a reboot. I haven't been able to play test it yet. The map is pretty barebones right now. It is set up for TIS only at this point. Check it out. I like the concept of it and narrows is one of my all time fav maps!! Not too sure bout the glass walls up the side, makes it look too cramped, but otherwise it looks good!
I think it looks way too open at the moment, as soon as you reach the top of the hill you can see pretty much 80% of the enemies side.
I like putting in visual ques that help the player orient themselves quickly without having to do a 360 turn. I'm aware and I'm still tweaking the cover but at this point I think play testing is going to benefit me more than just dropping pieces where I think they look good. I need to get a couple 4v4 matches going and watch where the trouble spots are. Hey guys, download it and play with your buddies. I'd love to hear about how some actual games went.
I second that, could use some more cover. I also miss the small paths that lets you switch bridge level, used it a lot to sneak up on enemies mid-bridge. Some of my friends loved the original Narrows, I'll give it a download and a test when we're together.
I third that, it needs cover because right now it just looks like you would constantly get raped from everywhere on the map (almost), which would be really annoying. From the photos the map looks too small also, more like a 1v1 map or 2v2 tops. Ravine is not very big, especially in width how you made the map from Forerunner structure to mountain. Aesthetically it looks pretty cool but I also think there is room for changes and improvements.
