So it seems with the only forge community that allowed and accepted overlimited maps have now closed their doors simply because traffic died for HALO 4.

I have a simple Plea one last request to have overlimits allowed for posting. Xforgery allowed them since day one and waypoint allows me to post them as well. While i understand forgehubs position and highly respect it, i just ask for a simple "we will think it over"

Xforgery has allowed me to post several of my maps and now i have a very limited branch of places that will allow them. Se7ensins and waypoint. While waypoint is a good place to get noticed, very few people that are registered with waypoint view the forge listings regularly.

My request is for map specific only, this will not allow me to mention gametypes or films that are "Altered" and only includes maps used with overlimited pieces.

I also share the templates used which allows everyone to equal access to the files.

All i am asking for is a we will think it over, nothing more

    thank you for your time

What do you mean? Like modded maps with more items than the real map limit has?

Due to the way ForgeHub is affiliated with 343i, I don't think this is possible.

I'm sure some staffer will come along and be able to explain why in more detail, but im sure that's part of the reason why.

Why do you feel the need to post those over limited maps anyway? They always end up horribly laggy. I say play the game it was meant to be.

Several people have but I don't guess they're posting them.

Wow, really?... I mean Really? <---Link

Immature to say the least. He made a map, it's as simple as that. How is that hacking, yeah he designed it around a certain modded gametype but did not make the gametype or advertised it. The map is playable for standard unmodded gametypes as well. You're either being ignorant (by knowing this and acting stupid) or you need the education I just provided.

Are you guys sure he means modded maps? I doubt Waypoint would allow you to use modded maps or gametypes.. you can't even post in there without getting suspended.

The limits are there for a reason, not just to give a challenge.

Custom maps have been cursed with disco lights, frame rate lag, dynamic lighting system not working, etc, so within the limits will give the player the best experience.

Personally I'd be more inclined to download a map that was well thought out with budget in mind with good object usage, rather than a map made out 5x1's because you have 400 of them on the map.

Also, the affiliation with 343 is probably the biggest part of this.

Only for reference to what i mean by overlimited [IMG]

Yes i am aware there is a limit for a reason but certain objects can be manipulated to have little to no lag, also if placed on an area of the map that does not show prerendered objects, im not here for a debate, while certain people dont like the idea of overlimited maps, it has been proven that if made right you can experience good gameplay, and there IS a niche for people who like to play on said maps.

As for the person who asked why i feel the need to make maps using overlimited objects, its simple i like natural landscaping and im good at it.

that bieng said i would really like to get my maps showcased and i understand policy, but like i stated in OP xforgery no longer exists, and also yes Waypoint allows these things to be posted in the forge section.

Im not here to be argumentitive or start a fight im simply explaining this is the way i forge.

Artificial turf on a rock in space? Really?

If I were going to do an overlimit on rocks it would be ravine. I wanted to make a map with only rocks and a few crates on Ravine, but didn't have nearly enough rocks to produce the elevations and vertical pathing I desired.

I didn't realize xforgery closed its doors... You may want to go over to halocustoms and see if they allow that sort of stuff.

You do know those turf golf holes have a weird large invisble hit box that extends well past the bottom. Unless you redesigned the hit boxes that map would be unplayable.

So my first initial thought was correct. Figured.

unfortunate, but true. overlimit of tin cups I can't really think of a use for other than aesthetics where there is no action on the map... unless you wanted a golf course with more than 12 holes... oh wait... they took out the golf club.

    or......
Halo Reach Zepherian Vi'Jil (natural modded map) Gameplay - YouTube

You can check maps like this and view that it is playable, not exactly sure what you mean about the hit boxes bieng wider, i know what hit boxes are but they dont effect the player, if you mean the magnetism that occures when a tincup is placed right side up then maybe i could see what you mean, but ive been working on maps like this since 2011 and can assure you....no difference in hit detection is found....on a map that runs smoothly. like this one

That's Halo Reach buddy, things changed for that object in Halo 4. They have zero effect on the player but they do effect bullets, rockets, grenades, etc.

I don't like modded maps in general. They just don't seem... legit...

I am not sure why this is the feeling they give me, but it is what it is...

Sorry for veering off-topic, but... XForgery closed down? When I go there, I get errors about network compression -- not 404s or domain parking pages. :\

This. The game appears to do movement physics and bullet/projectile physics separately, and it's been reported that Tin Cups have a "wall" on their bottoms that blocks the latter. Some other pieces are similarly bugged.
