Hi Guys A R C A S I U S here again to show you all a preview of a map I've been working on for quite some time. It is entitled 'Ironclad' and is primarily a 4 v 4 map but was built to allow for 8 v 8 parties as well. Basically this map took inspiration from about 7 different maps ranging from Halo reach, halo ODST and Halo 4 however in the end I believe it stands alone and original as it has undergone countless design changes. I have a variant of this on ravine however in order to create this map with as much detail as possible I had to transfer it over to Impact. Gametypes: Basically this map will support all gametypes minus Extraction, Griffball and Dominion. However will have a strong focus towards Infinity Slayer gametypes. Recommended Party Size: 8 - 16 Opinions guys?? A R C A S I U S
There's a hole in the map, probably an oversight. Right side facing cliff side (from building), bottom level next to black ramp. You can get outside and underneath. EDIT: It appears the map in your FS doesn't quite match your uploaded photos. Also there are no boundaries which makes it very easy to get above your buildings with a JP and inside your dead spaces.
Yeah its a map preview so I left many things out. Spawns, kill boundaries etc. And yes after I posted this I had to try to fix alot of framerate issues and so had to put some objects as line of sight blockers and kept updating it on my fileshare for security reasons as my xbox recently likes to save maps as other maps. I didnt bother fixing the hole, there are 3 that I know of I posted it so people could get an overall feel for the map and suggest any design changes
for the maps saving as other mraps... make sure you End Game after saving or else it doesn't register the save with the right file... never just exit halo or power off system after saving. ALWAYS End Game Always pick your map from the liist of maps prior to editing too. Never just use the map that is listed even if it looks like the right name. Since I've practiced those two things, I have not had this happen again, and I had it happen early on a few times after purchasing halo 4. Seems like a solid method IMO.
hey this map looks nice as well, pity about the pictures tho, can still make out the layout of the map, hopefully when its finished its as good as your countdown from reach
It doesn't matter if you end game after saving because it still happened to me and I never just shut off the console because my loadouts/armor/emblem settings have resetted to default about 12 times now. So I'm very careful about when I shut off the console. But picking the map out on the list every time you enter forge is what is preventing the bug from occurring.
I really liked the feel to the layout. It kind of reminds me of an ancient Greek town or something. Visually, there's so much white though that when you're running around the map the architecture just kind of all blends together. Once the map is more finished I'm sure you could assign colors to different sections of the map, which might fix that, or you could use the dark rocks/meteors in places to add some depth. Anyway, it looks nice.
Funnily enough I was googling ancient greek and egyptian cities when I was looking for inspiration for this map I rather thought it looked more like an egyptian town what with all the ramp steeps causing the buildings to be at an angle, its almost finished but has undergone alot of design changes from the screenshots. Thanks for your feedback
maybe not, but not exiting the game can cause the saves to get mismatched, so just keep doing what you're doing if you always exit first. Loadouts not saving is something else and I've had that happen once too. I think it had something to do w/ splitscreen but I'm not sure.
it doesnt happen to me very often so isnt that much of a problem i upload everything to my fileshare just to be safe. thanks for the info tho
