Evident (BETA)

    I was going to wait until 343 sorted its fileshare out for Waypoint. But I got impatient and have decided to preview my current development which requires testing. Hopefully it should work out nicely.

    Anyways back on topic: This is the Map Evident.

    Its a symetrical room-based slayer map which should be an improvement over Dawn.

    This is the Orange Room. It is home to a Dystopia style pit which contains an Sticky Detonator. The room has six connections on the lower level, two to the Gold and Green rooms respectivly, and two to the Purple room. There are also two additional connections to the higher platform in the room, accessable via two connections from the Purple Room's catwalk.

    Here is the gold and green rooms. Both rooms offer three connections, one to the lower platform in the orange room, one to the lowest area of the orange room and one to the Red room (for the green room) and the blue room (for the gold room). These rooms are home to the two concussion rifles, one for each room. Both rooms also offer a fireing slit into the Orange room, bring balance to the platforms.

    Here are the Red and blue rooms. They offer the only routes to the higher platforms and have four connections each. Two to the lower Purple room. One to the Gold/green rooms and one to the catwalks.

    And of course the Purple room. The lower level offers six connections. Two to the Red room, two to the blue room and two to the Orange room. The lower level is home to two additional Dystopia style pits and also a Binary Rifle. The catwalks are only accessable from the Red and Blue rooms and offer additional connections to the orange rooms higher platform. On this catwalk is also the Railgun.

    Weapons:
    BRs, DMRs, Carbines and LRs: 30 seconds and 0 clips
    Conncussion Rifles x2: 130 seconds and 0 clips
    Sticky Detonator: 90 seconds and 1 clip
    Binary Rifle: 140-150 seconds and 1 clip
    Railgun: 180 seconds and 1 clip

    Evident is expected to be played as FFA with the Wolf's FFA Slayer Gametype or as Wolf's Slayer Gametype for team based matches and 1v1s.

    This map is currently in BETA and is expected to change, I will get it on to my fileshare and if anyone can offer feedback it will be much appriciated.

    Hope this map works out well, if not, its layout should be good enough to allow changes, though I am gradully running out of pieces.

    'twas fun playing this today, man. Although the overall layout of each room seemed less complex than the previous rendition, it is nice to see that some overlap was added in there. I'm lazy today, so I'm just going to throw my gripes in list form.
    • The center rooms felt too large and exposed
    • The upper level lacked effective routing
    • Yellow and green rooms felt disconnected in that they did not have any significant effect on the other rooms
    • The cross-map LoS and lack of effective routing options led to some standoffs
    • Binary Rifle was waaay too powerful with the long LoS
    I personally think that you should remove all the cross-map LoS but the one on the upper floor given that one acts as a counter. I also think you should make inclined connections from the spawning rooms into the rooms adjacent. Like so:
