I've tried to replicate S&D as closely as possible a gametype in halo 4, it's pretty much the only gametype I play in cod. I wanted to name it Terrorfuse (to give homage to where it originally came from, Counterstrike), but people would recognize the name Search and Destroy better. "Halo: Search and Destroy" is with default halo health, and "S&D Classic" is with low cod-like health and multiple loadouts. GT: Insanem0nk3 - Please download compatible maps + gametype. Settings: Spoiler 2 bombsites, 1 life only, 45 second bombfuse, 4 minute rounds, alternate as Attackers and Defenders between rounds. Attackers must plant 2 bombs to win the round or kill all defenders. Defenders must either kill all attackers or defuse their bombplants and afterwards plant a bomb of their own. Note: To allow for 2 bombsites to spawn, I had to make the score required to win 2, so you'll have plant 2 bombs instead of 1. 3rd bombsite comes out to avoid camping the last bombsite. Not what I wanted, but Extraction isn't the best gametype to replicate S&D, I could have replicated Search settings EXACTLY with Dominion but many vanilla maps (haven, abandon, adrift) are not compatible with dominion (nuts!). Compatible Maps: Spoiler I don't take responsibility for making these maps, I'd like to shoutout to Salot for making three of these awesome maps and I adjusted the MLG on-disc maps. I just removed random ord.drops, put 0-2 initial ord.drops (all are 1-time only) for movement, made an actual bombsite object and changed spawns starts. Solace is the map I edited the most, it reminds me of a little of Narrows sans lifts now. SnD Haven: just DMR, BR, pistol and several nades (likewise on all maps) SnD Adrift: Dmg boost spawn once top mid, Replaced snipers with HLS. SnD Abandon: Sniper at coast, Railgun at top gold, HLS top mid/back gold. SnD Solace: Snipers at snipes, SB bottom of bases, HLS top mid. Spawns at ribs/cage instead of bases. SnD Station 9: Sticky spawns once top mid, jetpack near jumps, HLS near teleporters. SnD Lockout: No sword (too strong with 1lifeonly), shotgun @ green, Sniper. SnD The Pit: Snipers, no Rocket. not a bad idea but i think that s&d should stay with cod, halo already has enough cod like things in it, but good concept
Probably not the place to talk about it but could you do something like this with trait zones and Gametype-Specific Maps?
No, I've talked with the guys modding gametypes, and it's only possible with Megalo (the gametype engine thing) and nobody knows enough about it yet to manipulate it like that. :/
