I have updated Jade with some great feedback and help from Auburn. The map has been brought into color so that callouts can be more easily made, and the red spawn (now red/orange areas) has lost some cover. The weapons have also been shuffled about. Railgun and Sniper Rifle now both are between the initial spawns of each team, and suppressors have been added on each side along with Plasma Pistols. The new version has changed little from the original, thus not warranting its own thread, but this new version should be a slightly stronger one than the old competitive one, simply titled "Jade". As you may have guessed (if you've been around for a bit) the DU does indeed stand for Dust Up, as in the FH gametype that can be downloaded above. It works rather well, but really any competitive gametype will work well here (no radar, no or minimal personal ordinance, 1 grenade, and no AA at spawn).

That's all I've got for you. Here are some new screenshots of DU Jade. The old versions are still up, so give those a download if you don't like this one.

    Jade and Jade: Infinity

It all began with Jade in Halo 4. Realistically it ball began with the estimated 40 useless maps I made before Jade. This is the very first map that I made and liked in Halo 4, inspired by Mass Effect 3 architecture and a desire to make something decent. I made the map and tested for about a month, and in the last week I rebuilt it from scratch, updating visuals and editing structures to change gameplay. It all worked out for the better, when people who played Jade v1 on this rebuilt version they were unanimous. Jade was improved.

Jade is a small 2v2 map (can be played with other settings within a 2-6 player sizing, but 2v2 is best) that stretches from the cliffs of Ravine. There are two versions of the map set up, one with ordinance and one without. The map without ordinance has a unique weapon layout that is made for more competitive play, while the random drops of Jade:Infinity make every game unique. Below are weapon maps of the two versions.

    Weapon Details:
    Sniper Rifle. 0 clips. 180s.
    Sticky Detonatorx2. 1 clip. 160s.
    DMRx2. 2clips. 45s.
    Frag Grenadex4. 60s.

    Jade: Infinity
    [IMG]
    Weapon Details:
    Initial Drops:
    Sticky Detonator
    . 200s
    2 Set Frag Grenadesx2. 80s.
    Random Drops:
    3 Set Plasma Grenade
    2 Set Plasma Grenade
    2 Set Frag Grenade
    2 Set Pulse Grenade
    SAW
    Needler
    Concussion Rifle

Finally, I'd like to thank all of those who helped me. There were many who tested, and you all are why this map ended up the way it is. I would also like to give a special thanks to Sargent Sarcasm for the still images, and Knight of 0rder for the video. Thank you all so much for all you have done to support Jade and me over the development period. Thank you all, once again.

Jade and Jade:Infinity are both up for download in my fileshare. To find it currently, search the gamertag xAudienceofone under the map variant list. Any comment or question would be appreciated.

If you enjoy Jade, you may enjoy my 1v1/2v2 map Opal as well.

Note: There was a small issue at the time of filming with an initial frag drop that shouldn't have been on this version of the map. It is all fixed now, but that's why its the only drop that exists in the video. Thanks to Knight of 0rder for the awesome gameplay video.

Mr. Pokephile was also kind enough to make a feature on his youtube (channel) for Jade as well. He's got some nice commentary of the map and some nice gameplay as well.

big fan of this map, i dont think i have played the final version but looks and plays well.

there are some nice line of sights that give you some to and fro battles, and options for flanking.

    nice job

Played this last thursday and it flows like water man...dude above me got it right; nice lines of sight promote intense battles and if youre not careful, you can be battling and the other teammate (2v2) will find a path to your back side lol. Whack :[

Looks great, plays great, and scenery behind it (the cliff side etc) is nice to see behind the battle. 9.5/10 (only cuz i still say spawn with 2 grenades :p

The best 2v2 map I've personally played in Halo 4. Have really enjoyed seeing its evolution over the last couple months of testing and tweaking, and the recent rebuild was a smart idea.

You can play it with any gametype you like, that just happened to be the one that I chose to test with.

Thank you everyone for the kind words, its been great playing this with you all and I'm thrilled to have it all released now.

OP updated with a video thanks to Knight of 0rder.

Great to see this that you released this Audience. The map has really evolved from what it once was and through each renovation the map got much better. The final version seems much less cluttered and cleaner while still keeping the merits of the original. I look forward to downloading and playing this with you sometime. Keep up the great work. Oh and one last question will you be submitting this to the Dust-Up competition?

Thanks, Sora. I actually have already submitted both this and Opal to the competition. With any luck, the staff will like them. :p

It looks sweet & I must say, classy move in the video by not killing the blue guy who wasn't playing for a minute. Don't think I could turn down a free assassination, lol. Map is sick but didn't you have a reach map called jade?

Thanks, Zombie, it means a lot.

As for the name, I think you might be thinking of something else. I don't have any maps called Jade in Reach. Perhaps an unreleased one, but nothing like this.

Added a lovely video by Mr. Pokephile to the OP.

You know, before Pokephile's vid, I am not sure how many times I thought your name was xAudienceForce :/ Instead of what ever it is supposed to be.

Looks gorgeous is all I can say. Although my only complaint is that the crates dont cast dynamic lighting. Put a 1x1 block inside of them so that they do. Its my OCD man. I cant stand little things like that :p

Well I looked at it in person and I like it a lot. I won't be surprised a bit to see it in the tourney in all honesty. It's a good solid layout and I can see in the vid it plays well but I'd like to game on it for sure. I sent you a FR on live so we should get some games on this bad boy & then maybe you can help test mine, I'm gonna need it going up against maps like this.

    Thanks, Given!

That's a new one. I'm usually just mistaken for Audience-O-Fone. It's my thing apparently.

    So many feels.

Zombie, I am incredibly flattered by this. I have never thought that my works in Halo were ever that great (good in my later releases, but never as good as you say). I'll be more than happy to play with you and do what I can to help your map out. I must say though, the way I forge is very self-detrimental and I find it difficult to edit things. For example, with Jade, instead of adding a ramp in the center and editing the area near red spawn, I rebuilt the whole map. I did the same to Mojo (I think) in Reach and a few others.

But anyway, thank you so very much, and I'll help with what I can.

Yeah, I like my gemstones. It may be a side effect of adoring the pokémon franchise. Right now I've got a map called Sapphire in the works, but the name is going to change to something else. I'm glad you enjoy the map, JKA.

Now everyone can see why I nominated this map to the favorites, I love the way it flows and the different height variations. Hopefully nominating it was what inspired you to get it finished, and it was well worth the wait!

great job on this map :)
A simple design with minimal aesthetics. But what you do have is a well structured map and nicely decorated. I like the antena large usage and how you used braces to make door mechanism. Will be keeping this map :)
also really like how you have illuminated weapons

I watched the game play and it looks really nice. Its clean and doesn't seem too complicated or cluttered. I will definitely give it a dl.
