So, here I am again with a map I have made in I don't know how many reiterations, but I think I am nearly done. Re-Forged for the 2v2 Dust-up competition, I present Titan. Titan is a small, symmetrical map with a MAC cannon in the center for asthetics. I am not quite done with the remaining pieces of the map, but I wanted you to see the progress so far. Special thanks to Eightball, for helping me understand the basics of 2v2 map construction.(tho i am sure i don't got it yet) As usual, any comments, good or bad are much appreciated!
The mac cannon looks sick. I think the layout is a little basic though. I realize you said it's not finished yet, but I would try to complicate it a bit more in terms of pathways or else the game play will get stale quick. There seems to be no incentive to leave the outer ring as of yet.
Well, since this is really my first 2v2 competitive map, any assistance or ideas on layout would be very much appreciated. Co-forgers welcome!
Shadowcat!!!!!!!!! Hey Man, Was Wondering if You Wanted to Make a 2v2 Map with Me for the Competition. Maybe even make some 4v4 maps for Just Plain Ol' Customs. All I Do is Forge, I'm Pretty Decent at It. Let Me Know Something Bruh!
That is a spectacular cannon and centerpiece for a map. I look forward to seeing how the map shapes up around it. I can't tell from the pictures, but I would be sure to consider allowing people to move through the middle of the map, under the MAC cannon. If you don't, I fear people will rarely make their way out of the outer ring, which will dull the movement options during games.
Thanks Lee, i agree that if I don't fix the ring, they won't even go near the cannon. I am working on it, and thanks for the compliments, coming from you, that means something, with all the great Forging you have done in your maps, i hope that I can compare with mine.
You could just cut the ring up, make impassable locations or large walls. That way they would have to go elsewhere to complete the circle and thus you avoid Zealot syndrome.
Thats a good idea, and drop the camping areas as well. With the platforms and ramps out of the picture, the budget goes up, WOOT! [br][/br]Edited by merge: Sorry Skylor, wasn't ignoring you, sounds like a great idea for a future project, but right now, i am determined to get this one fixed and playable. So far, I have deleted the whole outer ring, floor and everything else except the cannon and started over. What I have so far looks soooooo much better than the last version, and I plan to get you some screens of it as soon as I can!
