This is a symmetrical reimagining of Boardwalk (Halo:Reach) that I've been working on. For the sake of frame rate I've simplified and streamlined certain parts, but fans of the map will still recognize some of the great features of the original, as well as some hopefully beneficial differences. For one, I tried to alter areas that used to be campable to promote different movement on the map. Right now I have players start at diagonally opposite corners of the map, but I have considered making them start across from one another at the middle of the map instead so that everything about the map is completely symmetrical. I would entertain other ideas if you've got em. Thanks.
From the pictures, it looks neat and cleanly forged, it definitely deserves a DL. Maybe putting some rocks and grass in would assist the aesthetics?
Well, this certainly looks like a better rendition than my attempt at a symmetrical Boardwalk. I especially like how the top middle is level with the side platforms. I'll have to give this a go, because you've definitely run with this idea far better than I could have hoped, and I think I could learn a lot from it.
Thanks Katanga. I checked out your preview and thought you branched out with the boardwalk concept in a different but creative way as well. Let me know if you want to try it out some time or just come to the tcoj customs lobby and I will probably test it there at some point.
This looks fantastic borg! I'm probably in the minority when I say I enjoyed boardwalk to an extent. You have definitely captured the best parts of boardwalk and got rid of what made it a bad competitive design. Someday I will get back the land of technology and play this.
Thanks gorilla. I hope you get back on soon, we miss you at tcoj. Btw (and this is a question for anyone): I am open to suggestions about what in particular you found annoying or problematic about Boardwalk so I can address it in this version. The top being overpowered shouldn't be as much of an issue anymore, especially since both sides have equal access and the bottom area is (hopefully) a little more fortified as well.
