Hi all, I just registered and wanted to say hi. I'm 40, married, house, job , kid. I've been playing Halo since the beginning, but Halo 4 has really got it's teeth into me more than any other iteration. I never messed around with Forge too much with Halo 3 or Reach, but I always loved the idea of a Halo map maker. Seeing peoples maps actually put into rotation is an amazing thing for a console! I wanted to really try and learn the ropes and begin to make my own maps. The thing is, Forge can be a lonely place when you go there on your own. I wish we had some bots to populate the maps for tests, but that's not the case. That thought led me here. I wanted to find a community of players who are into map building and playing them. Looks like I found the right place. I'll try to get out there into the forums and contribute. See you online.
Welcome Dawg, I too am in my 40's and have been a Halo fan for many years. Read all the books on the story line as well and have been Forging since Halo Reach. Welcome to the Forum!

Exactly what Sky said. Nice to have you here man. It's great to see another interested forger join the site! If you actually are looking to get started with making maps and stuff, check this out. I think that'd be a great way to start off. If you have any questions just ask around
^This guy was a noob not long ago, then he won a competition and then everyone wanted a piece of him. Those pieces taste gooood. If you've got any doubts about how to re-create certain effects or techniques with your maps, the Forgecast also has loads of helpful info!
The Community Center will be bestfriend if you're looking to play your map with others. TCOJ hosts weekly custom lobbies every tuesday, and the site has a biweekly TGIF in which several members just get together and play stuff. I really appreciate the welcomes and tips to navigating the site guys! The 2v2 Dust Up sounds like a blast. I haven't really jumped to contribute yet, as Im going through the forums and checking out all the stickied info threads to get a feel how the ship runs. I love how organized you are, but still friendly and laid back. I hope to get my first map done soon and will welcome the feedback, everyone has to start somewhere right.
