Sundance tweeted it not that long ago... MLG will no longer host Halo 4.

Thoughts? (please no rage about Ghost's settings :p)

Oh. Well there goes me participating in events.

I'll just stick to Smashy Chase.

People laying in to him for dropping Halo are out of line, I agree. But he's been a bit of a clown about this and other things on twitter.

I remember reading somewhere that Microsoft signed some contracts with Virgin Gaming which basically prevented MLG from hosting Halo 4 unless they could work something out, which they didn't.

Also, smh, but loool at all of the responses saying "kys."

    Agreed.

Apparently there's a spectator mode coded into the game. Not sure what the attitude towards modding is here on FH, but that could be useful. Hopefully 343 turns it into an actual feature in a TU.

Does this mean we can stop using the stupid team-only radar now? lol

It was a replacement for the lack of Xs over teammates' dead bodies..

    Called it :p (November 20th, 2012)
Funny thing is 343i spent so much time trying to cater to MLG and promote MLG gametypes prerelease with MLG interviews etc and cater to "livestreamers" with bunch of things like weapon drops on HUD etc etc.

I was hoping MLG where gonna stay playing Halo reach because I like having a competitive scene on Halo for a lot of reasons.

    so...

Does this mean the Halo community is divided?
some in H4, some in Reach, and some in H3?

Pretty sure that "extensive MLG interaction" was largely talk. The HUD weapon markers were never anything to do with competitive play, they're about helping newer or less knowledgeable players, and tbh I never saw 343 claim otherwise.

The HUD and stuff are also meant to help newer or less knowledgable players that are watching games primary on streams and by extension streamed tournaments and actual Tv's at tournaments which was primary aimed at competitive play.

I didn't mean MLG was catered to with HUD, I meant MLG was catered to pregame(with interviews and stuff trying get MLG involved) and there where HUD changes that also was designed to help competitive scene.(which streaming)

It sucks that they have to follow the funding and pick a game to compete in based off of a contract.

MLG events this year are going to blow big time. Im not a gamer that only d rides halo but honestly other than halo and LoL and starcraft 2, i dont really like to watch anything else. CoD is some what fun to watch but meh. I have heard rumors of them even saying they are going to put medal of honor warfighter or bf3 over halo and cod. if that happens i have lost all hope for competitive gaming. Anyways, there are other halo competitive events to go to. No biggie, im going to one next saturday, payoff of 3200, not bad.

I see no basis for those rumours in info actually coming from MLG (sparse as that is). Sundance has specifically been pitching Halo or CoD as the options, and the tweet even specifies CoD. I can't see them dropping all that to put a low appeal game like MoH on, and BF isn't suited to MLG at all.

Halo 4 dropped competitive players in favor of casual players. Random power weapons appearing in your face? AA that let's you see through walls? Portable Active Camo?

Oh god, 343i what have you done...

    They're releasing a competitive-suited playlist mid-February. Don't give up on 343 just yet!
