I am configuring the presets for an Infinity Slayer game type that will run on a map I've just finished. I noticed that the defaults used for the regular matchmaking maps are not indicated in the game options menu. Has anyone seen or does anyone have a completed version of a list containing all the correct and accurate game option defaults for the Infinity Slayer game variant, as it appears in the matchmaking system? And more broadly, are the defaults not in the game options menu for other game modes too? I am in the process of figuring this question out for myself, but I figured I'd pose it for anyone else who might have an answer.
Well, if they're not the same as the default Infinity Slayer settings that appear if you select Infinity Slayer as the game type in a custom game, then they could easily be grabbed by just playing a game of matchmaking, going into your temporary history for game types, and then downloading the Infinity Slayer game type that you just played in that matchmaking game.
Tried it and the options were still not set to the matchmaking defaults. No points were indicated other than kills. No assists, headshots, etc. And there were other game options that were not set to matchmaking defaults. It will probably take several games to figure this out. It's finite, but there are so many different actions a player can take to earn points and/or outcomes. Maybe it'll be a good idea to compile a complete list of these and have people add onto it. Ideally five or more people should have the same result to make it to the definitive list. Five seems like a sensible number, but if there is something more accurate or predictive it should be considered.
I know the ordnance settings are blank but I didn't know the points were. I also wasn't sure if ordnance is setup by default or if you actually do have to pick each weapon and its rarity of drop.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the ordnance defaults are not indicated either. It's great that the game options are so diverse, though! Who would have known that we'd have the ability to control so much. 343 made a huge leap in game variant customization. We'll always want more control and more diverse control, but it's great to recognize their progress. When I get a chance I'll try to make some headway on this list of game defaults, starting with infinity slayer and moving through the rest of the game types. Sparing my own and everyone else's future agitation seems like good enough motivation. Your avatar would make a great signature for your maps.
