Note: Map is renamed "Grifball Space." Since there is only one Grifball map in custom games, I made some of my own. This one is set in space. It has a little variety in the geometry.
I like the plain old flat styled grifball arenas instead of pieces scattered around the map. Also, I don't like the way the dynamic lighting looks in the first pic. It looks too distracting and it slightly hurts my eyes looking at it. Has that been an issue in custom games?
I played a couple matches and it looks fine to me. The dynamic lighting I think is what actually makes this map look more aesthetically pleasing. That's just my opinion though.
The hilarity of grifball is within the emptiness of the court in my opinion. Making a flat floor and adding obstacles does not equal better grifball gameplay. Like Jetpack grifball in reach, the extra dimension made me rage quit multiple times. I'm sorry, i just think grifball should be done how it was originated, with the new forge capabilities, seeing a nice traditional grifball court with amazing ascetics to compliment gameplay, not change it. And thats why i dont like what you've done here. And also, my apologies for being rude, but this also looks like a quickly done, kind of sloppy job. I don't mean to crush your hopes and dreams, i just dislike this entirely
hate to agree with you here but i do, griffball is ment to be a flat 30x30 or 35x35 flat floor with no obstructions. Lighting isnt working too well either.
New version of the map, I'm renaming it "Grifball Space." Here are the screenshots. I realized that was a good point you made on the original map. So I went back and redid it. I wanted to try something different with this one, but I guess I'll just stick to making Grifball maps flat. Thanks for the opinions guys
