Hello 4Chubbers! Amazing! The map posting system works now, sooooo why not post an original map from myself, took me long enough.

Sturdy is primarily for 2v2 and I cannot stress this enough. It is a small, inverse symmetric map with 3 levels, and plays Slayer and Oddball currently. Now, I do have one concern, and that is with jet pack. I cannot please all parties but I feel this may need to be addressed. If anyone has any thoughts or criticisms please don't hold back, I'm a big boy.

Side note: I have to give thanks to Sethiroth for his criticisms that ultimately changed this map for the greater good. I don't think you follow FH much at all anymore but if you see this, thank you. I also have to thank KAZEROID for bringing a video and screenshots to the thread, so thank you as well good sir.

    Speaking of a video...

Ahhh Urban, it turned out swell, and Odball is superb on this map. You officially used the structure first and are therefore the rightful owner.

You still need to use your version and finish that big team map. For those of you who don't know (everyone besides Given and I), we came up with the aesthetic design that I used in the middle together and experimented with it in different locations.

So I also have to give thanks to Given here for helping with the aesthetic concept, as well as just being a reliable tester on any map I put together. Thanks broseph.

There's really nothing to not like about this map. It looks amazing and plays even better. If you don't mind my asking, what is the purpose of the trait zones that are outside of the map?

The trait zones above the map have intensified gravity and 0% movement speed. It creates a soft barrier if people try to escape, I like to use this touch on any map that has an open top.

There are also trait zones on the map as well, but they are just 110% jump height to make some of the jumps more fluid.

And I'm glad you enjoyed my map, thank you :)

I get the trait zone above the map, I use the same thing in mine. But you have the same trait zones all around the outside lower area of the map. So if you fall off the map you hit the trait zone, but it doesn't seem necessary as you are going to fall to your death anyway.

It's just to discourage people from trying to break the map, if they try and and get close to breaking it, then they may keep trying, thus taking away from the map. If they just die, realizing they have no chance, they'll give up (hopefully). It's a weird reason but I had the spare budget anyway so I figured why not block everything.

considering the map has a simple outer shape [], i would just simple put a soft safe area close to the edges and the max height of your map and then put a hard safe area just a bit bigger, so your left with the result of no being able to leave that area.

Urban! Let me just preface this post with this: This map is gorgeous. It's wonderfully designed.

But, it feels a bit big for 1v1, which is what I initially played on it. Judging this map off of 1v1 doesn't seem fair, as its obviously built for 2v2, so I can't give you specific feedback yet.

One thing is worth mentioning however. The trait zones that you have in plabe allowing people to jump slightly higher (genius, btw) also automatically give people motion sensors, even on game types without them. Clearly an oversight, but it's something worth mentioning.

Thanks for checking it out! and yes this map plays very fast 2v2s so you shouldn't be dissapointed when you run a game of 2v2, I hope.

As for the trait zones, I ran into the same issue myself at one point. I don't have any idea of how to fix it and I don't think it's worth removing the trait zones entirely. But yeah, it's something I have also noticed recently so I haven't even tried to fix it and unfortunately, I honestly don't think it's fixable...

Finally got to play this after a load of my own testing the other night let me say right away... This map is fantastically clean, smooth and just beautiful however 5/6 person FFA was obviously not the ideal match to be played on this map. That being said, I look foward to playing some 2v2 on here, so get me into some matches and I'll leave a little more feedback for you.

Off topic but thank you for sitting through all those matches playing mine and sorry I didn't stick around for too many after. I was pretty halo'd out at that point.

Or you could set a trait zone on the entire map with normal settings and have a specific gametype where you can't move at all unless in the traitzone.

Recently updated for the Dust-up 2v2 gametype!
    The major changes to this version are;
    • 0 clip Rockets at bottom middle on 180 second respawn
    • 0 clip Sniper at top mid on 120 second respawn
    • trait zones adjusted to work with the gametype.

And thanks to everyone who has played and supported the map until this point, Urban loves you.

To download the tournament version of the map, simply download the map titled "Sturdy 2v2 Tourney"

I've loved our few games on this map, let me know if you ever need testing on the tourney version. If I'm free I'll join you, or your party at the very least to talk before playing this glorious map.

Another classic from Urban. I've enjoyed every game I've played on this, even when used with more "unconventional" gametypes. Your maps are always cleanly forged and inspiring. I'm always excited when I hear you're working on something, because I know it will turn out great. Kepp 'em coming!
