From the New Phenoix Map Selection: Dawn Made by ForgeWolf007 With Dystopia pretty much sorted gameplay wise, I wanted to make a new 1v1, potentially 2v2 map, that would have a completely new design from the other maps I had made. So, after about 2 days and 4-6 hours of work, I made a new map which should hopefully work well: Dawn. Orgins, Discription and Backstory: Ironicly, Dawn orgianally started of as a small part of another map sketch for ANOTHER game. Alot of players on the forums were complaining about how there were not many new maps. So I suggested players put up sketches and put up an example. This sketch gave me an idea for a map in Halo 4s forge and so I immediatly put an accurate sketch together for a assymetric map for 1v1 games. This sketch would become Dawn. Dawn is obviously an small 1v1 assymetrical map that has a different style to Dystopia, it mainly focuses on more room combat with sudden corners and many connections between each room, from 2 connections to as many as six between four out of six rooms. Dawn is actually going to be part of a map collection along side Dystopia called the New Pheonix Selection, both maps backstories both show they are in the city of New Phenoix, the city that is composed in the H4 campaign. Unlike Dystopia, which takes place in a sewage system, Dawn takes place in a ransacked labortory on the coast. The Map: Dawn is divided into six rooms, which I have put up screenshots of. Orange Room: The longest of the six rooms, the Orange room is likely to be the room most traversed it is home to a few pillars and a large window., it has six connections along its length. Two connections to the Red Room, Two connections to the green room, one connection to the Yellow Room and one to the Purple Room. The room has a Saw in it. The room offers a wide range of routes, but you are connected to pretty much every room besides the Blue Room, so you could easily get attacked from an unexpected direction. Green Room: The Green Room is another major connector, with another six connections, two to the red room, two to the blue room and two to the orange room. Unlike the orange room, it is more enclosed so you have to be careful, otherwise you might run right into the face of your oppoent. This room does offer some form of sight line between every room, but dont count on it. Purple Room: Undoubtly the nicest room on the map, its also the smallest, with only a connection to the orange room and the Yellow room, one may think why such a room exist? To make this room more traversed, it is home to the handy sticky detonator, which is actually the quickest spawning power weapon on the map. Its also a good place to take a breather, reload and move on, feel free to look outside before moving on. Gold Room: One of the larger rooms, and certainly the most open, the Gold Room is dominated by large windows in the wall and ceiling, casting the room in a lot of light. Its home to a Needler, it also has a pit very similar to the one on Dystopia, here is where a random drop may happen, in this case, it will be a powerup. This room has four connections, one to the orange room, one to the purple room and two to the Blue room. Blue Room: The darkest and potentially most dangerous room, the Blue room is home to a killzone pit, it has a upper level accessable by ramps and other rooms. Its home to the most powerful weapon on the map, the Scattershot, though this weapon takes an age to spawn and has no spare mags, so use it wisely, watch your step in this room. It may only have two connections to the gold room and two to the green room, but this is cramped enough to make it dangerous. Red Room: Undoubtly the largest room on the map, the Red room is heavily lit by windows and home to some pillars surrounding a kill pit, the room is dominated by a large balcony, where below it lies a Beam Rifle. This room has two connections to the orange room and the green room. The balcony may seem overkill, but the pillars can block your sight on some of the entrances, also, there are two ways up plus an man cannon that can be used as a suprise way up. Another random drop may take place here, in this case, either a hardlight shield, an hologram or an autosentry. Weapons: DMRS, BRs, LRs, and Carbines, no ammo, spawn normally every 30 seconds Scattershot: 180 seconds, 0 spare clips Beam Rifle: 130 seconds Needler: 110 seconds, 1 spare clip Saw: 120 seconds, 0 clips Sticky Detonator: 70-80 seconds, 1 clip. Random drops, every 220 seconds. Starting Loadout; Assualt Rifle No nades No perks. I have the gametype and map on my fileshare, but its likely this map will still need some work done, I've used about half of my budget so as long as its not a major change, it should be no problem. Let me know how it seems like and feel free to drop in comments: Enjoy Oh, and by the way, there is an easter egg on this map, let me know if you find it! No prizes besides being first. Ohhh.... pretty view...
The rooms themselves are large, but it's still quite small as you can get from one end to the other very quickly.
