Map-encompassing soft kill zone or soft safe zones everywhere?

    Hey Forgers, it's been a while since I've pestered you guys. :p I made puzzle and mini game maps back on Reach (and 3, but I hadn't discovered the map sharing feature). I'm currently working on what I hope to be the first iconic puzzle map of H4, and it takes place on Impact. There's a reason for that.

    There are a few spots where the player exits the main buildings of the puzzle map and to reinforce the space type feel as well as to prevent breaks I want there to be a soft kill zone everywhere that is outside of the main buildings. I'm taking a very realistic approach to forging the buildings; they are not your typical geometric-shaped buildings that are common in puzzles, so this is proving to be very difficult.

    Would anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about doing this, from how to construct the outside areas to fit a soft kill zone or how to arrange the soft kill/soft safe zones?

    I don't have any specific suggestions without seeing the actual map, but in general my approach is to put a soft safe zone around the entire playable area of the map, as tight as possible to the map's actual contours (so that it doesn't extend more than a fraction of a unit beyond the furthest playable area of the map in any direction, including up and down); then add soft kills everywhere that needs to be controlled that falls within the safe zone. This is pretty much always the best approach that requires the least zone placement.
