Ever tried to merge a double box and to find that annoying mix between the boxes? Well I think i know why. As someone before posted, boxes arn't flat on there flat edge, the have a slight tilt. So that when the boxes are merged sometimes that tilt can cause the annoying spikey box thing! I havn't tested this theory yet but I think this could be the cause
I don't think I quite understand what you're refering to, but what I do know is that your supposed to put the boxes upside down if you want to interlock them
Are you talking about when you merge two double boxes and one part of it is slightly taller than the other, and it creates a bump when you walk over it? If not, show us what you are talking about, please.
I will try and get a screenshot tomorrow, but if you put the boxes face down then sometimes they can go all weird
Oh wait, I know what you are talking about. It's when one part of a double box can be seen on the surface of another. It makes a triangular cutting effect usually.
Yea, it's a good theory. I'm not a fan of Double Boxes. Although they make the very backbone of many maps, they have weird angles and rounded edges. Then again, we could have gotten LR boxes instead...:squirrel_nono:
here is a pic of what he means both merges are within 1px, but the one on the right is not perfectly aligned with the middle box - it also gives an annoying graphical glitch as your view moves if you use a scaffold, as i have suggested elsewhere, you can just keep 'tapping' the box until it is perfectly aligned without fear of losing it's position
