Hey Guys, Looks like this has become a large issue in the new forge - so I've done a little bit of research and did some tests and I think I found out a little bit more why the dynamic lighting breaks. So I've prepared a short video explaining why it breaks and how to avoid it. Also check out this thread for a detailed list of what objects effect the lighting more then others: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-4-forge-discussion/142634-guide-dynamic-lighting.html Halo 4 Forge Tutorials - Broken Dynamic Lighting - YouTube Thanks!
+1, Like, Share. Also, for those who are interested, Warholic has written up a guide for this, with various lighting budget amounts assigned to each piece. it is extremely helpful.
I'd like to get my hands on that. I'll include a link to it in the video description on youtube. Also, thanks!
here it is! buried in the forum like it most definitely shouldn't be! lol http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-4-forge-discussion/142634-guide-dynamic-lighting.html
Hey, yeah honestly this is misleading because you are preventing it not fixing it, you should have mentioned there is no return...
not true! redesigning the map using pieces that arent as taxing on the lighting system can bring it back. all is not lost necessarily.
Like framerate you can pretty easily solve the issues with some modifications to your map. No need to start from a clean canvas.
You don't need start from a new clean canvas at all, you're just switching out pieces. Also, keeping the same design is the same map - all you're doing is switching out pieces. You don't need to start afresh at all.
Question: Can you break Dynamic lighting on your map to make a really bright map? I know that this is not desirable for most, but I want to remake some really bright maps from other games, and I'm not too attached to the shadows.
