Seeing as 343 have taken down the option to search via GT since posting their latest bulletin and then stating full fileshare will be working early 2013, chances are GT searching might not be back up for a while.

So I thought, as people finally realized that J4G3RM31ST3R way to extract screenshots wasn't illegal, I may aswell try and be helpful and post a tut on how to share Maps/Gametypes with a similar method.

    Sharing your maps/gametype.
    1) Download Horizon from XboxMB - Xbox Message Boards - Horizon
    2) Copy the saved map/gametype from your xbox360 hdd to a USB that is formatted for xbox360 use.
    3) Open up horizon with the USB plugged into your laptop/pc.

Option 4 is for security, you can skip this if you want.
    4) Once horizon loads choose halo 4 from the games folder in the device explorer to the right, then double click the map/gametype you wish to share.

Instead of 0's you will see YOUR profile ID, device ID and console ID, what you want to do is delete all of those numbers and click the "Save, rehash and resign" button, this will null all of those ID's and turn them into 0's. To be sure it applied close the file and double click it again. This is just for if you want to keep your ID's private.[IMG]

    5) Now back to the device explorer, simply right click the map/gametype and click extract, which will then ask where you want to save it.

That's it you can now upload the file you saved to a webhost to share with people.

Using other people's maps/gametypes you have downloaded.
    1) Download Horizon from XboxMB - Xbox Message Boards - Horizon
    2) Have a USB ready to work with your xbox360. Important, copy one of your own maps/gametypes/screenshots onto the USB, this will create the halo 4 folder and will give us access to YOUR profile ID, device ID and console ID for the next steps.
    3) First open your own map/gametype/screenshot you copied over by going to the halo 4 part of the games folder, then double clicking it.
    4) Then you'll want to click, "Inject new file", choose the file you downloaded. It will then show up in the halo 4 section of the games folder, double click it to open it and place the two side by side.
    5) Now simply copy and paste YOUR profile ID, console ID and device ID from your own file, to the file you have just downloaded then click the "Save, rehash and resign" button.

So in the case below, I would copy the "123456789" from my file to the newly downloaded file. If you don't do this, the map/gametype simply will not work on your profile/xbox/hdd

Then finally plug the usb back into your xbox and copy the newly downloaded file onto your main xbox360 hdd. Load up halo and enjoy.

To some this may seem time consuming but if i was going to share a map with this method it would take me less then a 5 minutes, the same goes for downloading someone else's map and carrying out the steps, less then 5 minutes. Here are tl;dr's for those interested but not wanting to ready it all.

A tl;dr for sharing would be. Save map on halo, copy to usb, extract using horizon (optionally removing your id's along the way) then uploading it to a filesharing site.

A tl;dr for using a shared map would be, download file from internet, copy over your personal ID's on horizon, save on USB, copy over to xbox HDD.

We shouldn't need work-arounds like this. Developers should release games finished.

    Fixed that for you

You're fooling yourself if you think Developers are the ones at fault here.

so if we can extract these maps and gametypes, couldnt map makers put the file on a mediafire or filesharing website and plop the link in their thread?

Yer exactly. It's really a quick process

A tl;dr for sharing would be. Save map on halo, copy to usb, extract using horizon (optionally removing your id's along the way) then uploading it to a filesharing site.

A tl;dr for using a shared map would be, download file from internet, copy over your personal ID's on horizon, save only USB, copy over to xbox HDD.
