Ok, so I set out determined to recreate Waterworks in Halo 4 because 1) I love it and haven't played it in 6 years, and 2) They actually gave us a cave in forge this time. Here's the problem: I'm almost out of pieces, and nowhere near done. I have about 20 building blocks, 20-something platforms and 20-something walls left, and it is not in any form close to playable. I really wanted to make a TRUE remake and not a spiritual successor, but I'm afraid I'll have to accept that it's just simply impossible with Forge's limitations. Maybe I'll post the WIP to my fileshare and let some more experienced forgers pick up where I'm leaving off. Check out the WIP pictures:
Your bases seem to have some nice accuracy to them, but I feel Waterworks itself is simply hard to recreate without almost a entire level that is designed around a Waterworks remake already. You could probably do better with it though on Ravine, using the Middle of Ravine as a divider and working around it that way. Your bases are accurate enough to pull off a good reimagination, especially if you use the Middle Bridge/Dip of Ravine as the Waterworks dip and build the middle base with that in mind.
I think you just need to cut back on piece usage: as said above, this will be a very hard remake to do. Also: just out of curiosity, are you using those grids for measurements?
Yeah, I'll hafta cut back on the pieces if I hope to complete the map. It will make it less accurate, but there's no other way. Yes the grid is for measurement. I overlaid the grid on the heatmap of the map from Halo 2 (see below) to get close to exact measurements for recreating it in forge. That way I could ensure the map would be an exact remake - it was going well until I ran out of pieces :/
