okay so I finished my map recently but here is the catch I made two maps on the same palate. It all started when I made my nice lil 1v1 map and I was happy but noticed I only used about $2500 of the $10,000 budget and had used all of the wall and block pieces so being the creative forger I am I challenged myself to see if I could make another playable map with limited resources. I succeeded. I then had the idea to see if it would be possible to place spawns on both 1v1 maps and be able to play on each one separately by just switching the gametype. (ex. Team Slayer 1v1 = Map A; FFA 1v1 = Map B) unfortunatly Im having issues. I'm wondering if anyone knows what I might be overlooking and if you might have any ideas or if its even possible at all. Thx
I can tell you that objects set to gametype specific and the "slayer" label will still spawn in other gametypes. I tried having different initial spawns for ctf and slayer and was unable to do so
to get a spawn to only show in slayer, I Think you need to mark it as: Gametype specific: Yes (duh) Label 1: Slayer Label 2: FFA_Spawn (or whatever it is)
Why not just save the map as two different maps? Then set up seperate spawns for each. That seems like the simplest solution to me. Edit: I guess it sounds like it could be done though. I haven't really looked into spawns, but if you're able to label them for different gametypes, I guess have one set of spawns labeled as Slayer, and the other set labeled as Regicide (if it's possible).
yea, what yousaid... I think the OP's main concern would be losing one of them. But as you said, all he'd have to do is save as new map so there are two copies, then delete the un-needed parts of each copies and you'd have two maps at that point... for gameplay's sake, you should always use as few pieces as necessary, not have a whole other map that isn't being played on, loaded, or partially loaded into memory.
Yeah I was thinking about doing that. Its prolly my best solution. I just wanted to know if it'd be possible I guess. Anyway I should post this map soon for all to see
