So i've been working on this one map for about a week, now all of a sudden it won't generate any lighting and everything looks really out of place. On top of that the shadows move real weird like when i fly over them. I only have 6050 out of 10000 budget, a little more than half. Can I fix this or is it broken??

Mhm, dynamic lighting stops generating after you get over a certain budget. If I remember correctly, the limit is 6000, so you should just have to remove or replace 50 dollars worth of objects.

WARHOLIC has a nice thread up explaining why this occurs and how you can prevent it.

    Here ya go:
    http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-4-forge-discussion/142634-guide-dynamic-lighting.html

The short version is: You have too many polygons on your map for shadows to render correctly. Try reducing the number of more complicated pieces on the map and replacing them with simpler pieces :) In addition, I've heard you can get dynamic lighting to work over the normal amount by spawning in geometry not visible off initial spawns 1 second after the game starts.

never knew about that trick to spawn geometry in after the game starts... that sounds promising

Just fyi, light-derping doesn't have anything to do with budget. I've seen a map with light-derping that has only $700 budget spent. It's just the number/complexity of objects.

JKaddict, check to make sure it just doesn't bungle the dynamic lighting entirely.

I mean, as long as you don't use all hundred of the space tubes you should be fine.

or even half of them, from my experience with Morpheus. it needed to fill in the empty space around the map, which is supposed to be inside a city... the cityscape surrounding it used mostly silos at first, until the derping was noticed.

it still said I could use something like 40 more silos when that happened. it was very wrong :D Most everything in the level is blocks and walls

My budget was around $5,200 at the time...

Yeah this is true. It all has to do with the polygons of the pieces or the complexity of shadow needed for the object. There are good threads here to help as suggested.
