Just a preview of a new map I have made to see what peoples first thoughts are Comment any negative or positive suggestions! Partly based on Conkers Bad Fur Day on Nintendo 64s: Heist Map ENJOY!
Aesthetically, it looks ok to me, although it looks like there might be lag ingame from all of those objects.. What gametype do you want this map to be for (or is it an aesthetic map)? How many players?
Hey I'm not sure about the lag but I didn't use all of the funds. The gametypes probably best for my map may include Infinity Slayer, Slayer Varieties(Slayer Pro etc) and maybe Capture the Flag and Regicide. 2-10 players. Any other suggestions/thoughts? Thanks
Your piece usage is killing me here. It looks so busy and cluttered, when it could be a cleanly forged and neat map.
I used the same pieces so it is exactly symmetrical and that's how I intended the design to look like. But I do accept your criticism.
asthetically it looks amazing and clever. busy? Sure. But it reminds me of something artfully crafted rather than just being "functional". if it plays okay with two or more on your console (make sure the 360 can reder it at least twice) and if you play test it w/ others over live, then I'd say it's a success. don't worry about what others visually like or dislike. it's yours and if it plays good then it will help display what can and cannot be done using forge. if you find that it does lag either with two on one console, or online, then I suggst removing some of the "brace" pieces and perhaps some others that have a high polygon count. You may be able to get just as visually stunning with using a high-poly piece only every other piece on a particular wall. On the walkways you have lots of those braces, so maybe removing half of them would help the framerate (if it needs help). Keep in mind that not all high poly pieces are going to use up your budget, but could still cause framerate lag. 343i did not make each of them cost the right amount of budget, so you can get bad laggy levels and the light derping effect without exceeding your budget or even getting close. It really depends on what pieces you use. Great start, and good luck.
