    I am re-creating countdown from reach. I use the term "re-creating" loosely, as I am editing main structures as necessary to better accompany 5v5 TS & Obj, making some rooms larger, and editing some main structures for more competitive play. I tried to keep much of the geometry recognizable, and in direct result, the map plays nearly identical to it's predecessor. Of course, there are some limitations of forge which make a direct remake difficult, to which I believe to have adapted nicely.

    Currently, the map supports TS and CTF, KotH, Extraction, and Oddball. Feel free to DL the current version from my share and offer any opinions. Very open to changes currently, little in the map is 100% final, though I believe the geometry to be nearing completion.

    Thanks in advance for any feedback!

    I'm glad to hear someone is remaking this, as it's one of the best Reach maps - one of just a few that I think belongs in the canon of classic Halo maps. However, I hope you're not changing it TOO much. Once you upload the new build I'd definitely like to give it a look. Did you make it on Impact? Seems like it would be easiest to re-create the rocket/shuttle thing using the Impact silos.

    Funny, I would think you DL'd it to say that... I actually did exactly that. I tried not to change too much as not to lose the feel of the original, though I wanted to keep path-running times similar, which involved some areas being taken up a notch in size.

    Yes, it is made on Impact, and yes the main LOS blocker was done with the silos. :)

    Can't say I was a fan of countdown but it was one of the more tolerable maps from reach. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

    Countdown was one of, if not my favorite Reach maps. I'd like to take a look at this as well.

    I'm working on a countdown inspired map currently but its very different.

    Countdown = Best Reach Map

    Do post pics as soon as you can, I really want to see how someone pulled this off.

    This doesn't really resemble Countdown o_O All the sight ranges are way off and there is WAY too much open areas that don't make any sense.

    I can TELL it's Countdown, but just barely.

    Right, it's a loose recreation. Certainly inspired by countdown in design & geometry, but there are many things that proved difficult to otherwise replicate given the limitations of forge.

    Keep in mind also that it is a beta, and many things are subject to edit.
